Slow weight gain
I'm 25 weeks and I'm up about 18 pounds. I guess that's about normal, but I feel like my belly isn't as big as everyone else's, or as big as it should be. People don't believe I'm 6 months pregnant. I know that everyone carries differently, but I feel like I should be bigger by now.
Anyone else gain the weight slowly? Did it pick up at a certain point?

Slow weight gain
I'm 3 weeks behind you and between MS and GD I'm losing weight and also wonder if my belly is too small. I keep telling myself that as long as the baby is healthy my body is doing what it needs to do. You should feel the same way! And also, I have been told that you can pack on some weight towards the end, my sister said from 7 months on she gained a good bit.

Some people carry small. With my 1st I didn't show until 30 weeks. I was sticks and bones back then and ten all of a sudden popped. I still wasn't that "big". My belly now is how I looked at 40 weeks. Now 16 years later I show sooner.

18 pounds at 25 weeks is normal, not slow. I only gained 18 pounds my entire pregnancy! At 25 weeks I was maybe up 4 or 5 pounds. And trust me, by the end I was plenty big! Just enjoy your pregnancy and don't worry about what other people believe. You have a little baby growing inside of you!

Slow weight gain
I'm gaining weight much slower this time around than I did last time. My weight is up about 7 lbs at 18 weeks but keeps going up and down depending on the day. I also felt sicker this time around. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous on occasion that something wasn't right.
I gained the most weight between 5-7 months with #1... mainly because I was on vacation in DisneyWorld and because of the holidays. I went up 20 lbs over that time period alone! But this is your first pregnancy right? I didn't pop until I was over 6 months. So maybe that's all it is for you!

Everyone is different..I'll trade you lol. My Belly is obnoxious and has been for a long time. I could've dealt with about six less weeks of this.

Re: Slow weight gain
I had very slow weight gain with my first. I lost 6lbs in the first trimester and didn't gain them back until about 20 weeks. I carried very small until 8 months or so. No one ever believed me when I said how far along I was. My doctor never seemed concerned and DD ended up being 9lb 6oz

What she said!!!! Not being able to push my chair in all the way at the dinner table or not being able to cross my legs for MONTHS!
Are you tall? My friend was due 5 days before me (she had her baby 2 weeks ago) and she didn't start showing until about month 6. At my baby shower she looked like she was 6 months pregnant and she was really 8 months. Apparently because she is tall her baby would grow upwards, while since I'm short my baby grew outward since he had no where else to grow. I REFUSED to take a picture with her since she was carrying so tiny. Embrace it!!!

Slow weight gain
I gained 40lbs in my first pregnancy and I would say at least 15 of that was in the 3rd trimester. Don't worry how big or small you are as long as the baby is doing well. I had a woman (a stranger) argue with me when I was 39+ weeks that there was no way I was that far along bc I was "too small" and she wanted to know how skinny I was before I got pregnant!

Yeah I guess my issue is not so much the weight gain, but how my belly looks. It just seems that I'm carrying small which makes me worry a little bit. I know I really shouldn't be worried because my doctor is not concerned, but it is just something that has been bugging me.

I am a little on the tall side, 5'7", so maybe that does have something to do with it. Watch, right now I'm complaining about how small I am carrying and by next week I'll be a blimp!

Re: Slow weight gain
I'm at week 26, I think?? Trying to remember the last email LOL they update me otherwise I would totally lose track, I'm the worst at keeping track!
I'm up 5 pounds... total.
Originally, at the end of of my first trimester, I had lost four pounds since before I was pregnant. It was crazy but the doc said it happens and not to worry.
Now, from the start of my second trimester until now I have put on five - so the four I had lost, plus one. My doc again told me that my weight right now is ideal, I'm measuring fine, everything is great, my numbers are great - blood results, cholesterol, blood pressure, etc. etc. he takes all of that stuff all the time.
So, he told me to just keep doing what I'm doing. I'm just beginning my six month and I have to tell people I'm pregnant - people probably then think something is wrong with me or baby but I'm going to go by the guy that went to medical school he has been doing this a long time and he knows best.
Plus, he is constantly reassuring me to enjoy this time because it is fleeting - he is confident that I will put on everything I need to put on in the next three+ months or so. He said, bottom line, everyone is different and YOUR body will do what it needs to do. So, when I gain 20+ pounds TOMORROW lol I'll be like OK, here it is

Re: Slow weight gain
I didn't look pregnant at all until I hit 6+ months & now people never believe that I'm almost 8 months pregnant... people usually guess 4 or 5 months. I'm happy about it because I can wear almost all my pre-preg shirts & some pants (unbuttoned) & I can still move around comfortably. The baby is actually measuring slightly bigger than its age so the doctor said I'm doing fine & I've gained a little less than 20 pounds so far. I get a variety of reactions from people, everything from surprise to concern to envy... I don't mind at all! For a long time I just hated that I looked more like I had a beer belly than a baby belly... but now I definitely look pregnant finally so I'm just enjoying it!
Don't worry about what anyone thinks or says.... as long as the doctor says you're healthy & the baby is fine, it doesn't matter! Most women would love to carry small, I definitely love it & I'm hoping it means it'll be easier to get back to my normal size after giving birth.

As long as the baby is measuring fine all is well. The dr. would tell you if you weren't gaining appropriately. Everyone carries differently.
