When does baby's weight gain start to slow down?

I cannot imagine they continue to gain a couple of pounds every month... doesn't it slow down at some point?

Also, when are they supposed to double their weight? I read it somewhere, but don't remember.

I've heard once your baby is mobile (ie crawling, etc) they are "burning" more calories and tend to not gain as much.

I was getting scared that my DS would outgrow size 6 diapers by time he was a year old at the rate he was growing.
I think he was about 20 pounds at 9 months. He's 15 months and is only 24. He was 6 1/2 at birth.

For Ryan, about 6 months. He was gaining a lot - nearly tripled his birthweight by 6 months. But now he's 13 months and has only gained about 5 lbs in the last 7 months.

Gavin gained 3 lbs/month the first 3 months...then about a pound and change thereafter.
By his first birthday he was about 26 or 27.

Now he's almost 18 months and he's 30+....

Justine's first month she gained four pounds.....then months 2 to 4 has been alittle over 2 and this month it was a little more than 1. Maybe it will stay this way...I hope so she is 5 months and 16 pounds!

DD is almost 16 months and has gained 2lbs since her 9 month appointment.

they gain a lot until they become mobile.

My baby was 99 the percentile at her 7 month appointment at 21.7 pounds.... and 8.5 months she only gained .3 pounds.

right now she is almost 10 months and still 22 pounds.

So i would say between 7 and 9 months depending on when your infant gets active, is when it really slows down.

I belive they double within 3 months and triple by 6.
