Slow weight gain?
I am 19 weeks and have only gained 5 pounds. I know I was definitely more when I was pg with DS. I don't remember exactly, but I gained 30 pounds in total with him. I am a little concerned. At my last OB visit, he said he was not worried, and that my weight would "catch up". (just an FYI-I am only 5 feet tall). Anyone else not gain much weight but everything was/is just fine?? Thanks!

Re: Slow weight gain?
I wouldnt worry. I only gained 4 lbs at 20 wks. I definitely started to gain more after that. I am now 31 wks and have gained 16 lbs which should keep me on track for the 25 lbs my doctor said is a good amount for me to gain.

Re: Slow weight gain?
If you're like me, you will gain A TON around weeks 25-28... I seriously gained so much between one monthly doc visit that it scared me But Ive also read that happens towards the end of the 2nd which made me feel more at ease

Re: Slow weight gain?
At 19 weeks I had only gained 2lbs. Now at 38 weeks I am up 25! My weight really started to pack on once I hit 23 weeks or so. I definitely wouldn't worry about it because you will catch up and gain what you need to!

Re: Slow weight gain?
If you gain a pound a week going forward, you're on track to gain 25-26 lbs. And you may get one of those weeks where you'll gain 3, like I had last week. You're totally fine.

Re: Slow weight gain?
I haven't gained anything and I'm 24 weeks.
I think I'm gonna gain in my last trimester.
I was overweight to start so I think I've been losing fat and gaining baby... I wouldn't worry until your doc starts to worry.

Re: Slow weight gain?
I really didn't start gaining much until weeks 35 and 36. I was about 10 total and now I feel like the baby is packing on the pound. I just gained 3 lbs this week.

Everyone's body needs different weight gain. You look to be on the slender side, so you could stand to gain more. My friend who is much smaller than me has gained 5 more lbs than I have. She needs it.

Re: Slow weight gain?
I haven't gained much at all and I'm 35 weeks. Most people don't believe me when I tell them how far along I am, yet somehow, is measuring BIG for his age so it's really OK. It's not so much your # that's the concern, it's more of the baby's weight. Just think....less to lose after!!
