Sitting up unassisted & toppling over..
When should I be concerned with this in my almost 9 month old (adjusted age 7 months)?
Nicholas can sit unassisted but if he tries to reach over to the side to get something, he will topple over. There are also instances where he will arch his back & throw himself back. There are other times where he just refuses to sit, he would much rather be in his walker....I noticed in the shopping car he is always falling over to one side also....I asked the Ped & he said it is something to watch & it could be that he has low muscle tone in his core or it could be his extra weight (24lbs5oz)

hate me for sayign this, but
I really think you need to throw away that walker. It doesn't let them develop the right muscles they need for practical movement.
I would just leave him laying on his back and put toys all around him and let him try to move himself up and around to develop muscle strength.
Every baby develops differently but IMO things like walkers really hurt not help sometimes.

in a perfect world I would not have a walker but when you have 2 kids that are 10.5 months apart, it is the only sanity. My oldest son used it too & developed just fine. I know you are not trying to start drama, I just don't think that it is totally hindering his development considering he only started in the walker about 2 months ago. He spends plenty of time rolling around

Kris, hes fine!
Def a little top heavy prob throwing him off and he hasnt figured out the balance yet.
Why i know this, ANTHONY! LOL
Both sit unassisted, but Ant topples back all the time and why, cause hes got a helmet and weight on that head of his.
they both literally stated sitting unassisted a little after 8 mths and doing really good. Ant even though he still topples over, he can go from sitting to down to his belly.

Deb, I was hoping you would respond because I know your boys are up there with my guy.
I had a feeling it had a lot to do with the weight & not really him "not" being able to do it. When he does fall, he falls in slow motion like he knows he should not be.
