Sitting at work

For those of you that sit most of the day at work, are you getting back pain? I get back pain everyday around 2pm and from 2-5pm I am just dying. It feels better when I stand up or walk around.

Any ideas except walking around more?

Re: Sitting at work

i'm on my feet most of the day, but a few minutes into sitting my back starts killing me, so i can imagine how it feels to do that all day!

Re: Sitting at work

no such pain yet...although i'm pretty good at getting up and moving around often. AND my office has a "pregnancy leg rest" that's been passed from preggo to preggo through the years. Chat Icon It's a really cushy bench the same height the desk chair - like an ottoman, really - and it fits nicely under our desks. I can have my feet up all day!

I feel your pain. I keep my feel on the chair in my office. It tends to help.

Re: Sitting at work

Me too, and I'm about as far along as you. I also get tailbone pain which really hurts as well. My only tips are to walk around, try putting feet up, and if possible, lie down for a while somewhere (probably not too likely at work).

Re: Sitting at work

I have yet to get that pain but like Nicole said, I make it a point to get up pretty frequent to walk around & stretch. Sitting too much is no good. I also try to keep my feet up under my desk to keep everything flowing Chat Icon

Re: Sitting at work

I get tailbone pain which is pretty bad. I do bring a second chair over and put up my feet.. and I get up and walk around. But, once the pain comes I am doomed.

Re: Sitting at work

Yes...I get a pain in the center of my back. I've been meaning to get a pillow to bring in.

eta: I also keep a small garbage can under my desk and I sit with legs propped up, that helps.

Re: Sitting at work

My pain is usually on the outside of my upper thighs & hips from sitting all day long (more at my desk in NYC - I guess the chair is shaped differently than the one at my desk on LI).

My back thankfully has not been bad from sitting ...

39 weeks here -
I'm uncomfortable, but not really in pain.
If I stand on my feet too long my back starts to hurt .......

Try to get up and walk around more often....it will also help w/ any swelling you may encounter later on ! -

This started for me about a week ago and I grabbed a crate out of our back room to put my feet on. It has definitely helped take the pressure off of my back. Just make sure you can put it under your knees otherwise they'll start hurting!! HTH Chat Icon
