silly debate
In the midst of all serious Irene talk, can you help me settle a minor debate occurring in my house right now?
I still live at home with my parents and my 17 year old sister, but I do spend the weekends at my boyfriends (who lives a 3 minute drive away).
My dad's a cop, so he got called into work today until Monday.
My mom says that I should stay home with her and my sister tonight.
I say it's no big deal for me to still stay at my boyfriends tonight, especially bc we're not sure if his parents will be home.
Thoughts?

I'd totally stay with my boyfriend even though I feel the right thing is to stay with mom and sister. Can your boyfriend come stay at your house so you're altogether? Best of both worlds?

I think you're fine either way. I would totally do a girls night though- it could be fun bonding time
ETA- I don't think its silly but I don't think there's a right or wrong answer here. Go where you feel comfortable.

My DH and I started dating late 2006, there was a storm on St. Patrick's Day 2007 (or thereabouts) and my very conservative mom let him stay over.

no brainer, K... stay with the boyfriend! i remember being at DH's during the blackout in 2003 (?) it was like 8 million degrees, we had a lot of beer that needed to be drank before it went bad, candles, and, well... it's honestly one of my favorite memories from when we were in our early years of dating.
