I'm 31 weeks, and for the last two weeks, I have been getting so short of breath sooo easily I feel like my grandmother! Anyone else experiencing this? Is it normal?

Re: shortness of breath
Normal.... I have been getting it too. I notice it most when I climb stairs. I have A LOT of stairs in my house
32 steps to walk up to the house and I have 4 floors in my house each with 1-2 flights of stairs each

Re: shortness of breath
Right about then I had it BAD. I had lots of shortness of breath, and had episodes of my heart racing. I even left work one day because of it. It started probably around 29 weeks, but was really bad right at about 31 weeks. It started getting better last week (around 33 weeks)--I think I might have "dropped". My stomach definitely looks a bit lower and breathing has been MUCH easier.

This is when I notice it too! Our downstairs bathroom is under costruction, so I have to go upstairs to pee (....like every 5 minutes...) by the time I get to the toilet I feel like I'm 90.
Last night DH and I were watching TV together and both had to go at a commercial break - he thought he was funny running to beat me up the stairs ...well by the time I rolled off the couch, got my balance, wobbled up the stairs to the bathroom .... he was done anyway perfect timing!

Re: shortness of breath
we live in a split, so its like 5-6 stairs and then another 5-6 stairs, i get out of breath just climbing the first set....its awful, and not to mention the walk to work now..the weird part is, I dont' think I'm carrying very high, if anythign I think I'm carrying very low, so its just strange to have all that pressuer sitting on my chest to cause me to be out of breath...

Re: shortness of breath
I def had this lovely symptom and still do now at 36w. We are working on our house and I also have to pee upstairs and our almost daily trips to home depot are now nearly unbearable. I am not carrying high either but doc said the baby is still squishing my organs.

Re: shortness of breath
Yep, I get this a lot - I don't even have to be doing any activity - I get it sitting on the couch, laying in bed... totally normal. the baby is pushing up on your diapragm, which makes it difficult to take a deep breath.

Re: shortness of breath
This was one of my first PG symptoms and I am only 13 weeks. My OB said it's totally normal and to take deep breaths whenever possible.
