Short AF
Okay, so I have faced the fact that the day and half of bleeding that I had at the beginning of this month was actually AF. Okay - that's fine. Moving on. I have been doing the digital OPK's (because its obvious from how many tests I took last month I am a POAS addict and if I have to interpret lines I am going to drive myself crazy). No smiley yet but if I DO have long cycles that is totally normal.
Here is my question (thank you for reading if you got THIS far):
Does the length of AF affect fertility at all. I mean the cycle was 36 days long but AF was only around for a day and a half. Does that matter at all?
It's a good possibility it was just so short because my body is still out of wack and my hormone levels are all over the place. I was just wondering in anyone had any insight into what it does to the conception part of the cycle. Thanks!

Re: Short AF
Honestly, I dont know. I dont think that it is normal to only have AF for a day an a half though..but I can be totally wrong. That being said, I dont think that should affect fertility. Are periods always this short or was it just this month?

Re: Short AF
My last 3 cycles were only 2 heavy days and a very light day. It's usually 2 very heavy, 1 heavy and 2 lighter. I asked my RE b/c the first time this happend was before I even started meds. He said it was probably due to low estrogen. He said women who have had several D&Cs can have this b/c eventually, some layer gets removed (I forget what he called it). He said that as long as it's a day or 2 heavy, then it's fine.
It was a bit longer this month but not much and oddly, my extrogen was very high on CD3.
It still can't hurt to ask your Dr though.

Re: Short AF
IIRC you never really got a heavy day, right?
If that's the case, I would be concerned about that, and I would talk to your dr. Especially since it was less than 2 days. I would definitely mention it.

Re: Short AF
Thanks everyone. I will watch it this month and see what happens. I am hoping that it was because it was my first cycle off of BCP and that this cycle will be back to normal. But of course if it is the same I will call the doctor. I hate calling the doctor, it seems like every time I treat me like I am dumb, or completely insane.

Oh, so this was your first cycle off BCP? Its very possible that that is the reason why. Coming off the pill can def. throw things off a bit. Were you periods reg. while on the pill?

Yea...opps, guess I should have mentioned that (though I did). My periods were regular when I was on the pill (for the most part), by a day or two. And then they were about 5 days long.
