I never got one. Because I am germ-paranoid and I would have to wash it every time I used it anyway, so I wound up just bathing my DS if he was in a cart and touching everything.

It's not just about being a germaphobe or not, I find that the cover helps to cushion the baby, it's also warm - if the cart has been outside.
I'm not a germophobe either! But I use one because my little guy is all over, even when strapped in tight. I worry about his teeth smashing the metal bar or hurting his face. It provides some cushion and is better than nothing.
i got mine from a seller on the FB B/S/S board for a few bucks. Well worth it.
Maybe its just my DS then. He sits in his seat and has not in his 10 months bumped his head, teeth, arm foot or anything. He has not gotten cold or wet from a cart. For me it was an unecessary item and one less thing I need to lug around.

To each his own, I'm not a germaphobe and I use mine all.the.time. I use it on high chairs also. I just think its more comfy for my DD and straps her in better. Everyone is different though. Also it's not a pain in the ass for me to lug around, I just leave it in my trunk along with my stroller. I've seen them at Marshall's as well.

I am totally not a germphobe either and didn't think I wanted one. I got one as a gift for my shower and ended up using it ALL the TIME!! It just seemed more comfortable than just the hard seat. Plus, when DS was still a little wobbly, I felt like he sat better in it. It also had some little toy thingys attached to it that kept him a little entertained.

Yes for the 1st year. I honesly don't use it anymore! I snaitize the carts with wipes and that's it.

I've never used mine. Too much hassle for me. And DS have never once tried to bite and part of the cart. And he's never seemed uncomfortable with the fact that the seat is hard.
Now the high chair part that came with it was very handy when he was smaller for restaurant chairs as it helped him sit up a bit straighter.

DEFINITELY!!! DD wants to put everything in her mouth- including the cart handles... 
I'd much rather see her put the fabric in her mouth than the actual handles that everyone else is touching. i'm not a germaphobe, but this one is a must-have for me!

definitely get one....it was the best investment...DD and DS always put their mouth on everything when they were babies/toddlers and shopping carts are so infested with germs...its also a cushion too, would prevent injury or if they fall asleep they could at least lay on the cover. i was just thinking if i ever had more kids what stuff i would use all the time and what i could do without and that shopping cart cover would definitely be something i would neeed for sure!

I was really happy to have it when DD was little and prone to licking / sucking on the shopping cart handles.  Plus, we had a pink flowery one, which cut down on strange old people telling us what a cute son we had. 
Now that she's 14 months and not putting everything in her mouth anymore, we don't really use it.

I don't have one yet, because DD is too young, but I plan on getting one. I'm not at all a germophobe, but since she likes having everything in her mouth, I'd rather her not suck on the handle. It also just looks so much more comfortable.
My DH  when I mention them. He says that we were just fine without them!

Got this same one for my DD from Marshall's. I used it for a couple months. From around 7 months when I started putting her in the shopping cart till around 15 months. After that I stopped using it. I sanitized her hands after taking her out and before putting her back in the car seat.

I use it a lot...not only in the supermarket/Costco carts...but I also use it in restaurants in high chairs...it has really gotten it's money's worth here!
