Shoe Question - 11 mos old
When do you get real shoes for DC? Jillian just started walking, and I figure she should still wear the shoes with the soft soles, but I was just wondering what the best thing is?
i was in the Stride Rite outlet on Sunday and they have different stages, and I was getting a little confused as to what Jillian needs. Any help would be appreciated! Right now, she can almost walk across the room before falling on her butt - she just started taking some steps a couple of weeks ago.
i didn't know if its time to look into upgrading her shoes, or stick with the kind we're wearing for a while. Thanks!!

Re: Shoe Question - 11 mos old
She doesn't need real shoes until you are letting her walk outside on a surface that could cause her to get cut. If she is just on grass/sand stick with what you have. When she starts taking off down a sidewalk where there could be glass or something, then you need shoes for protection. She doesn't need them for support -- barefeet are best whenever possible!
When she is ready for "real" shoes, the stage 2 or stage 3 stride rites will be fine. Stage 1 is for prewalkers.

Re: Shoe Question - 11 mos old
I asked this question when we were in the regular stride rite. They said that bc my dd isnt walking yet she just needs cover shoes which is stage 1 and stage 2. Once she starts walking she will need stage 3. There is some type of supportive arch in them that assists with walking or something to that effect. You are probably ready for there stage 3 shoes. DD is 10 months and wearing stage 2
