I think the general rule is that it gets gradually worse until around 6 weeks, and then very gradually better until around 3 months when life really improves. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I'm sure it feels like forever to you though. Try to get some help, don't be shy, this is a really tough time and you don't need to handle it alone!

Sorry your DD is uncomfortable Chat Icon That is awesome she is sleeping through the night though! It doesn't sound as if she is hungry to me. I am sure you are doing fine with Breast Feeding Chat Icon Try a sling or baby wrap, it worked wonders for us when DD was newborn and went through her fussy periods when it seemed nothing else would work.

Re: She just won't stop crying....

I know when you're in the thick of it, as a new mother, it feels like you're being pulled deeper and deeper and just swallowed by panic, depression and anxiety. I was there, and it was a rough, ROUGH ride, but I promise, I PROMISE, it will get better. This is a phase that many newborn's go through. The screaming and crying usually peaks at about 8 weeks, but then starts to subside around 10-12.

You'll get through this, I promise. And, remember to take care of yourself. If you feel you're reaching your breaking point, call a friend, your mom, whomever, to take over for a little while. If that isn't an option, put DD in her crib and go take a hot shower. It will not hurt her to cry by herself for 10 minutes in her crib, and I assure you she will not remember Chat Icon

A pacifier didnt' work either? What about going for a ride in the car or a walk?

Ugh, I'm so sorry you are going through this. I know how it can be.

She doesn't like pacifiers! Chat Icon She doesn't know how to suck on them properly... likes the nip better. She never liked them... ever since the hospital.

I have been trying my hardest to get her to use one. But it's not working.

Maybe she is colicky. I hope that it gets better for you. How old is she??? Usually they outgrow colic at 3 months.

Is it only after she eats? Does it happen more at night?

DS hates the pacifier as well. We tried several different types of pacifiers to see if one worked better than the others. He "tolerates" the Gerber silicone NB one, but does not love it. As soon as he figures out there is no milk coming from it he takes it out & flings it (I kid you not). I ended up supplementing with formula at times in the first few weeks and it seemed to help. He was hungry, no matter how much I BF.

Every week gets a little better, and every day he becomes more interactive, which is also making him happier during the day. It is amazing what a difference one day can makeChat Icon

Have you considered formula for her? I read that the reflux does go away by I think the 3rd month - I know...far away but there will be an end.

Hang in there - you are doing a great job. Clearly you love her so much.

Thank goodness she is sleeping through the night to give you some peace. I don't know what to say - would you consider calling up your ped. before your next appt. to see what he recommends to do?
