she just climbed out of her crib!!!!!!!! Help! WWYD
OK, I am freaking out. DD is 2 years 3 months. She was playing in her crib after her nap, and the next think I know, she's in the living room with me!
I can't believe she did that. Thank Gd she didn't get hurt, but now what?????????
What do we do tonight? Do we have to take the side off an and make it a toddler bed tonight? We don't have a guard. Do we have to buy the one that goes with the crib or is there a universal one we can What do we do? I also seriously doubt my DH and I can figure out how to take the thing off tonight.
OMG. I cannot believe this just happened. I thought we had another year of the crib!
WWYD????

you could buy a crib tent to stall until you feel more comfortable converting to a toddler bed.

No advice but this is actually the first LIF post ever that made me lol... "then she was in the living room wtih me"  I'm picturing my own DD coming downstairs casually as if it isn't strange that she just climbed out of her crib!

I would try to turn it into a toddler bed tonight and buy a rail (they're pretty much universal) -- God forbid she tries to climb out at night and gets hurt.

The first night DS climbed out of his crib, he did it 4 times that day. That night I sat in his room until he went to sleep. Then 2 days later, Dh converted it to a toddler bed.

Same here, that was about a month ago and he hasn't attempted it since. I tried not to make a big deal about it so he would hopefully forget about it.

Oh, I remember the first time my DD did that. She was in her sister's crib. (DD1 was 19mths, DD2 must have been 6 mths or so). I was changing DD2 on the floor next to the crib. Next thing I know, DD1 is on top of DD2. DD1 jumped out of the crib and landed on DD2 right in front of me!
I hoped it would be the one time, but she was thrilled and kept doing it. We converted to toddler bed the next day.
DD2 got a toddler bed before she was able to get out, and a regular twin shortly after.

Same here!! She did it only once about 6 months ago when she really didn't want to nap but if she's tired she won't try it.

Ditto, DS did it once and hasn't done it again. He stays in his crib and its been months.

Toddler bed with rail. it's not worth it to risk her getting hurt. I think 2 yrs 3 mos is def an acceptable age for the toddler bed.
