She was 17 when she had her 1st child (according to the website I found).

You are right. I stand corrected. When a person is underage, as she may have been, the element of making appropriate (for lack of a better word) decisions is almost null and void. That is why we have laws about age of consent. But she did step up to the plate and is doing her best to support her family.
