Separation Anxiety at Night?

Can this happen and if so, what do you do about it??? Chat Icon I never know if I should go in and soothe. The problem is he rubs his ear so I worry maybe he has an ear infection and is in pain...but he has no fever. Maybe it's teething (he already has 2 teeth) and he has a little cold. So who knows... But he wakes suddenly with a WAIL like he's dying. Chat Icon Poor little guy. I'm wondering if it's a separation thing...?

My DD gets this too, except it happens all night until I give in and bring her in our room, which I know I shouldn't do, but as a desperate sleep deprived mom, I do what i have to do! I think they just wake up and miss us! Chat Icon

Welcome to my world Chat Icon I am up at all hours. She will sleep the first half of the night in the crib but then will not go back down until I bring her in bed with us. I work full time so if I dont i will be miserable. I also drive 1/2 hour each way to bring her to my moms who watches her. Ohh what us mamas have to do!!

Re: Separation Anxiety at Night?

He never sleeps in our bed but I was definitely wondering if he just wanted me to be holding him. Like last night DH tried to soothe him and he wouldn't stop until I came and held him. Anyone have a solution?? Chat Icon Are you supposed to cry it out with separation stuff?

Also, sometimes when I go in he continues to WAIL so that's why I'm wondering if there's something else going on. I just made a ped appointment. But he's definitely entered his "I want Mommy all the time" stage!

Teething is definitely an option! He already has 2 teeth. But sometimes he wails when on tylenol. Could that still be teething?

I think so based on what I went thru...DS was on motrin and still woke up wailing. So I used teething tablets & orajel whenever he had those night screaming fits.
