Selling your home
We have decided to sell, but now im starting to feel sad, I am so attached to my house, I LOVE it, we have the most amazing backyard and playroom...just sad but we are outgrowing it.
Did anyone else feel this way? We have to do it....just a lil sad about it, lots of memories here...

Re: Selling your home
I'm not in your shoes, but I am a potential buyer and have been looking at homes for weeks now.
MOST of the homeowners I have met seem to have a sadness in their eyes. I don't know for what reasons they are selling, but most seem a little down.
I'd imagine it's hard, no matter the reason of selling.
It's a sense of loss, even if you are moving somewhere bigger & better, and most people are very attached the their homes.
Maybe take pics of each room to always have to keep?

Me too. But I could understand how you would feel this way. I have more bad memories than good.

Re: Selling your home
I totally hear ya!
I moved into DH's house when we were dating - so this never was "my" house, even though he always made me feel like it was and encouraged me to decorate, etc.
We always planned to move, but ended up staying in this house a lot longer than we expected. We got married while living here, had our first son, etc.
We are hopefully going into contract on our new house this week... I am soooo excited! But I am surprised that I am also sad at the same time. So many wonderful things have happened to us in this house - this is where it all started!

Re: Selling your home
We're not selling right now, but if we (hopefully) do sometime in the next few years I would have no attachment to this house.

I definitely think it's going to be harder on the kids...Our current house is all they know. OK - maybe I'm going to get sad now.
I do talk to my kids about how they are going to decorate their new room, to get them excited about the whole process.
