Once I finally close on our home we are selling I am never moving again!!

The home selling process stinks and buying a home is by far the easiest of the 2.

We signed our contracts with our buyers in April ( I think it was the 3rd week) and we put an on or about date of May 1st thinking we would close towards the end of May and it would make our lives easier because I was only 7.5 months pg. They changed it to June 1st and we said fine. Since they changed it to June and we have until June 30 we wanted to close as late as possible but give us a enough time to have the funds clear because we close on our home that we purchased June 29th.
If we moved in May we were going to move into my dad's house that is vacant but it needed work to live in it and stay their until a few weeks after the baby is born but no one was mentioning closing dates and when I would speak to our attorney he would just tell us they are getting their financing together. Friday the attorney called saying they wanted to close yesterday and my DH said no way. Well now we have to be out by June 25th because the buyers have to out of their apartment in order to repaint it to neutral colors. I know this probably doesn't sound like such a big deal to everybody but I am due to have my 2nd baby in 3.5 weeks and I already have a 14th month old! I am so upset with them and I feel like I am not getting the alotted time I am aloud on the contract. And now it doesn't even make sense to fix up my dad's house to move because I am so close to my due date.
So the only conclusion we came up with is to ask my parents if we can stay with them along with my 4 sibblings and grandmother until I have the baby because we don't want to have to move our stuff twice.

Re: Once I finally close on our home we are selling I am never moving again!!

I feel your pain. We sold our home in April two weeks after giving birth to my second DS. We were originally scheduled to close about two months before my due date. The buyers of our house were acting shady so we had to cancel the contract on them. After we cancelled the contract they came crying for us to please sell them the house. Everything worked out in the end but we were rushed getting out. We were supposed to have 30 days after closing and only ended up with 15. At the closing we also we informed that we had to pay interest on their mortgage that was not previously discussed due to us staying after closing. Our closing lasted 4 hours because the buyers did not have their mortgage finalized. My lawyer was so angry. Selling was by far the worst experience of my life. I told my DH that we staying in our new home forever. I promise you that it will all work out in the end.

If you planning on using any money from the closing to purchase your next home make sure you leave yourself extra time. We almost cut it too close. Especially since we were buying our new home for cash. Ask for special deposit slip at your bank to clear the funds faster. I let my DH go to the bank to deposit the checks and he didn't ask. We ended up fighting with the bank because the money was not clearing and we scheduled to close in CT.

Good luck to you. I know it's not easy.
