Sciatica relief?
So I posted about the muscle pain in my butt Does anyone know how I can help to relieve it?
I think it is because maybe I am putting more weight on my left side bc I am off balance?? Should I try to favor my right side??
Any suggestions would be awesome TY

Re: Sciatica relief?
The baby is probably favoring a side, not you. Wherever he is laying he's probably on that nerve, good times right?!
What really helped me was 2 tylenol and a heating pad for about 20 mintues. Then I would get up and do some lunges since the muscle was loose.
Hope you feel better

i drive around with the seat heater on in my car... i don't own a heating pad but i imagine that would work just as well (if not better)

Re: Sciatica relief?
Definitely a heating pad will help, but when I was pregnant with DS, I had all kinds of issues including sciatica pain and I also found out why I was waddling, my hips were displaced from the pregnancy.
You should ask your insurance company if they will cover any physical therapy appts. for you. After I left that physical therapy , I felt like a new person. My OB had recommended this and also had given me a physical theraist to go to. If you need the name, let me know.
Hope you feel better

Re: Sciatica relief?
Put your leg in a figure 4 position on your knee and bend forward into it. This will stretch the muscle and alleviate some of the pain. Try it, it really works!

What helped me was strectching and hot showers..STINKS! I also have a desk job so I needed to get up every 30 min to walk around. That helped Once baby moves off the nerve it is such relief!!

Re: Sciatica relief?
the only thing that helped me was time. mine was really bad for about a week and then it eased off. nothing I did helped it for that week. I have heard that certain stretches can help the baby change position or ease the pain on your nerve. hope you feel better soon!
