San Juan, Puerto Rico
My parents just booked a trip to San Juan, PR. Any recommendations for them? What to do, not to do, good restaurants, what to buy, what to see, etc...
Thanks so much!

Re: San Juan, Puerto Rico
I love Puerto Rico..it's my favorite vacation spot ever-there's so, so much to do there...I've been 5 times and never get bored.
Where are they staying?
As far as eating, Raices is wonderful. There's always a long line and it's cramped, but they have amazing mofongo.
La Bonbenera (sp?) is wonderful too for breakfast/pastries
I would def. suggest going to El Morro (sp?) I've done the rainforest twice, and it's beautiful.
Walking around Old San Juan is a lot of fun too-there's a bunch of shopping and little restaurants/bars
If they like things off the beaten path, Pinones is a much more "rural" feel of Puerto Rico, and it's right outside of Isle Verde.

Re: San Juan, Puerto Rico
Thanks for the responses! They're staying at the El San Juan. Is everything in walking distance in PR? Are there neighboring hotels to visit?
I've never been to PR, so I'm not such a help to them. They haven't been on a vacation in years and probably will like to keep everything simple. Beach, pool, casino, restaurants within walking distance, etc. How would they get to to Old San Juan?
Thanks, again, guys!

Re: San Juan, Puerto Rico
The El San Juan is right outside of Old San Juan-it's going to be a bit of a walk, and one of the neighborhoods they would pass through isn't the best, so I would either take a cab or ask if there's a bus around there..i usually try to take the bus.
I forget if they have their own beach bc I've never stayed there..if not, there's one very very close by
