my opinions are that we live in a biased world. It saddens me how many children are neglected/abused and starving as well as rotting in foster care while loving, kind and willing people are discriminated against.

IMO if you are a good parent...then that is good enough
The number of Suffolk's child abuse cases ALONE is sickening...
SO if you are a single man, a single woman, straight couple, gay couple,divorced....
whatever...if you are a good parent that is good enough for me

Yes,
There are so many needy children in the world.
Homosexuality is not a learned trait, it's either there or not so a same sex couple has as much of a chance of having a gay child as not. They aren't going to "turn the child gay"
Heterosexuals are not any more or less loving, attentive, and responsible people than homosexuals. Trust me as a school teacher I have plenty of students being raised by "intact heterosexual parents" that are more screwed up than you can ever imagine.
There is a same sex couple in our Unitarian Fellowship who are in the process of adopting a teenage boy. I applaud them for commitment to parenthood and the courage to adopt a teenager. We actually have several families in our congregation who are same sex couples and they all seem like wonderful parents.
What I do think, and this is for every child, no matter what the circumstances of the home is that they all should be exposed to strong male and female role models no matter who their parents are. This especially holds true in single-parent households. Males being raised in female head of households need a strong male role model (uncle, family friend) that they can identify with and vice-versa for females.
BTW: My cousin is single and she adopted a little boy from Guatemala. When she told me she started the process I said, you are the bravest person I know because you are completely volunteering to go it alone when many in society still look down on such.

I believe that as long as the couple is a healthy loving couple, then by all means if having a child is their wishes then I wish them the best in adopting...
Who am I to judge them?
I see so many hetero couples who are just horrible parents. My uncle and aunt are in an unhealthy relationship, always fighting, yelling right in front of their kids. I feel so bad for my little cousins.

I think its fine. Some children grow up with only one parent anyway - so the argument for they won't have a dad or won't have a mom, I don't agree with.

A guy I work with, he and his partner have been together for about 10 years. Hey thats more then some marriages. The state of FL will not allow them to adopt. They really want to adopt a little girl and it saddens me that they cant.
I think if you and your partner are wanting to take in a child, provide them with a home, food, clothing and love then why should anyone tell you no. You'll be giving this child more now then they had before.
It just sickens me and upsets me. So many children get lost in the system or abused and their are so many wonderful same sex couples out there that are more then willing to give a child a good life.
