S/O NYC Cabs- Cabbies on the phone
I cant F'ing STAND when I get ina cab and the driver is on the phone.
Its illegal. period.
Now, if they were saying something like "yes, I can pick our DD up after school" or SOMETHING that seemed like an emergency I could let it pass.
But they have the earpiece in and are JUST talking the whole way.
It PAINS me to leave a tip when they are so blatantly breaking the law like that.

they are on hands free, so its not illegal. but I was JUST talking about this the other day! yellow cab and UPS delivery men are on their phones ALL DAY.. WHO the heck are they talking to?!!

Oh but I have one better. I was once in a cab in Manhattan and the driver said to me- "Miss, can you see if there is a cop?" I was like- excuse me?
He goes, "I want to make a left turn here and it's illegal but I can't see if there is a cop on that side, can you look for me?"
I was like- are you kidding me?
I hate nyc cabs!

They aren't allowed to use hands free either.

If that illegal turn was getting me to my destination quicker I'd gladly be on the lookout!
The phones don't bother me unless they're screaming. I've had some screamers and I can't deal with that.
