RSONY....opinions??

We have our appt on Monday with Dr. Sung. What have your experiences been here? She was recommended by my OBGYN. I already did a search and saw mixed reviews from years ago, but wanted to get some recent opinions.

Re: RSONY....opinions??

I go there and Dr. Saketos is my main doctor, but Dr. Sung did both of my IUIs. I really love it there but I can see why many would find it a little weird. You don't really get one on one time with your main doctor. You basically just see whoever is available when you're there. I'm ok with that bc I really like all of the doctors. The nursing staff is so great... they are very knowledgeable and super nice. I got pregnant on my first IUI when TTC my DS and I'm currently pregnant with #2 after my first IUI this time. If you have specific questions, I'd be happy to helv! Chat Icon

Re: RSONY....opinions??

I absolutely love it there!! I go to the West Islip office mostly but also go to the Stony Brook office on weekends or for IUI's.
Dr. Halfen is my favorite Chat Icon but I do like all of the doctors there. I agree with PP, the nursing staff are so nice and compassionate.
I just had my beta this morning, this will be my third IUI there.

I am very happy there also. Like others have said they do have sort of a team approach which may not be for everyone, but all staff -doctors, nurses, receptionist, etc are all very nice. Every time I have called with a question someone has called me back with an answer within a few hours and the location/ appointment times are very convenient for me which makes things a lot less stressful.

I loved it there! I went to the West Islip office mainly and Mineola for procedures/weekend monitoring. I had my 1st DD via IUI there and am just about 28 weeks along with DD#2 via IVF.

Weekend monitoring could get a little crowded and wait times for IUI's could get a little long, but I have nothing but great things to say about them. Doctors, nurses and staff were all wonderful.

Good luck!!

Re: RSONY....opinions??

We go to the Mineola location. Dr Saketos is our main doctor, and I'm currently in the 2WW with my first IUI. I like them OK and everyone is super nice.

I do feel like things aren't explained well, and since I'm new to all this it's super frustrating.

Meh. Nice doctors. Organized practice (in West Islip where I primarily went) and kind support staff.

They also have a very cookie cutter, baby factory approach, and I quickly got annoyed at the lack of reaction/response when it became clear that I was a challenging case.

I felt this way as well, and felt like i had to advocate for myself and ask questions, not knowing why a cycle failed (and not talking to a doc) was frustrating too... but eventually I did get pregnant after an IUI there

Re: RSONY....opinions??

I was a patient at rsofny. My dd and this pregnancy (32 weeks) are both success stories of rsofny. I saw Dr. Lydic at the Stony Brook Office. What some people tend not to like about rsofny is the factory feel. I didn't experience that because I only saw my Dr. I found the nurses and sono techs to be extremely sweet and knowledgeable.

Re: RSONY....opinions??

I am a patient here. Followed Dr. Lydic from StonyBrook since he helped me to have my first child. I have been very happy compared to his old office. Easy in Easy out for the most part. I'd say the sonos are factoryish because they just knock them out all day long compared to the old office where Dr. Lydic did each one himself before. But in the end between Lydic and Bronson my questions are answered, everything is explained well..and if its not I just ask more. The staff has been very friendly. So far so good at the new place.
Good Luck with your decision Chat Icon

Re: RSONY....opinions??

I go to the mineola office and Dr Stelling is my main dr because of PGD. While i rarely see him, he always entertains my questions over the phone and tge nursing staff will always send stuff to him mid cycle for review. Some cycles i never see a dr, but the nursing staff is fantastic and very nice. My first DD is 2 1/2 and we are trying for number two. I love love love Dr Sung. She is one of the main drs always at mineola. I am not a fan of saketos, and really liked meeting san roman.

I do feel like my questions are always answered and like i said, the nursing staff is fantastic.
It is very cattle car, though, and i can see how thats not for everyone.

Good luck!

Re: RSONY....opinions??

I was a patient there and had 2 IUI's...for me I prefer to actually see my main doctor or any doctor...I never saw my main doctor which I didnt like...I know a lot of ppl who love going there and have been successful...I think picking an RE office is really subjective and you will only know if like it if you try it out.

Re: RSONY....opinions??

i was lucky to get my bfp with them on my first medicated iui cycle but i was not a fan of this place at all.

they did i horrible job with my protocol and expaining things to me. i got most of my info from here.

when it came time for dh to get his sa they did a bad job communicating the results to him. their paperwork was not updated to the new standards(which i also found out from here) so he thought his count was not good when it was.

when it came time for us to sign paperwork for the iui they just kept telling us sign here here here but when we refused to sign something without a reason why all we got was "you just need to" that wasnt good enough for us so dh made a scene and a very nice head nurse took her time to go over everything with us. in imo that shouldve been done from the start.

the only time i saw i doc was when i got my bfp(which was always someone different) up until i graduated.

i will say this. the nurses where very nice (except for that one tool) and had no problem getting back to me via phone whenever i had a question.

please keep in mind this was my experience. everyone is different. good luck
