Re: Righty or Lefty

Honestly, I don't think this is something to get yourself worried about.

I am a lefty and I was raised in a household where both my parents and my brother were right handed. I survived grew up just fine and don't have a single memory of it being an issue.

My DH and I are both lefty and both of our DC are right handed. Again, not an issue. My DS learned how to write properly without any issues and my DD is well on her way.

The biggest problem you're going to have if she's lefty and the rest of your family is righty is that nobody's going to want to sit to her left at the dinner table Chat Icon . You will all survive!

Really, people?! You are going to get on someone for asking a simple question. Maybe "worry" was the wrong word to use, but my gosh!!!! Beat her up for a possibly weird question, come on!!!

Thank you! I'm an awesome mother but apparently a terrible writer (never claimed to be otherwise though). LOL. So my word choices were stupid- sue me! And I have certainly seen way worse things on this forum to be bothered by!

Re: Righty or Lefty

DS actually uses both hands equally. He is only 3 but his preschool teacher said that by now they usually notice that a child is favoring one hand over the other. With him, it's pretty equal so we don't know yet.

I have a feeling he will be a lefty though. Both ExH and I are righties.

Ridiculous. This has got to be a joke.

Such a ******** response. Get off your high horse, there was no need for such a comment. It was just downright mean.

Hmmmm...sound familiar? Chat Icon

Oh wait, clearly you've deemed THIS question ridiculous so how it's ok to be an asshole? Ah...Gotcha! Chat Icon

To the OP, I agree with others that I don't think being left handed is something to really worry about. If it makes you feel better, my dad is left handed and went to Harvard. Not too shabby... Chat Icon

There are a bunch of posts indicating the same feeling, why are you picking on one poster?

I personally don't think this is something to be worried about, but I know back in my dad's day they used to force kids to write with their right hand no matter what.
