Rice cereal before 4 months?

I speak to many Moms who tell me that they give their babies rice cereal before 4 months.

Do you/did you give rice cereal before 4 months?
If so, how? In the bottle or by spoon?


I am nervous to try it, but my daughter is hungry all the time. I am wondering if it will help.

She is 9 weeks old.

I gave DS rice cereal before 3 months. Maybe at 10 weeks.

I gave him 1 TBSP of rice cereal in an 8oz bottle both mid-morning and in the evening. I let him drink until he seemed full. I must say the ped reccomended it for us since DS was consistently in the 90%-off-the charts % in weight and hieght and he had pretty good head control that young.
