Returning to Work and BF/Pumping

I'm returning to work in 3 weeks and my mom will be watching DD. I'm worried about being able to pump to keep up with her needs.

How many ounces should I be leaving with my mom for DD? I'm worried that she won't have enough to give her. Should I supplement with formula just in case? I will be working a very long day, leaving approx 6a and returning 7-7:30p.

How much should a 3 (and then 4/5/6) month old be getting? I pump occasionally and I've never pumped more than 4 oz at once. At the end of the day I barely have anything. What is your pumping schedule during the workday? I'm starting to get worried and overwhelmed by it all.

I'd appreciate any advice and words of wisdom. Thanks!

You can do it! Your baby doesn't necessarily need more as they age, your breast milk actually changes for them. It is truly a perfect food. Check out kellymom.com for how much you should leave.
I always left 3 5 oz bottles from 3 months-baby was on whole milk. The babysitter often only used 2, but liked to have the third if necessary.

I suggest leaving four 5-ounce bottles (even though she might only drink three of them). That's my plan (going back to work soon too). That way in case you get stuck late at work or commuting, you know the baby will have enough.

I left Three 4 oz bottles for a full day (and she always had 1 or 2 bags of frozen in the freezer for those days when back up was needed...which never happened hehe) and 1-2 4oz bottles for half days.

Thanks everyone!! I'm just nervous aboute leaving DD and worried about her getting enough (or too much!) breast milk. I know she'll be in great hands with my mom.

I appreciate the replies.
