No more pumping at work!

It's over!! No more schlepping that damn pump every day! I'll still pump and nurse in the morning for the next two weeks, then down to just nursing for 2 weeks.

I can't believe it. I remember when she was just a week old and the pain of nursing was setting in and I thought I would never make it past the first month. I remember the first time I pumped with a manual pump and DH was helping and I was crying because I never thought I would be able to pump milk to feed her.

Now I have a freezer filled with milk. My daughter has had only breastmilk (not formula) for a full year- even after I went back to work after 3 months. I feel so proud of my accomplishment. I really feel like I served my daughter well in this last 11 months.

Thats great! I hope I make it that long this time around! I only made it 2 months with my daughter. My son is only a weeks and a half old and I'm already stocking up in the freezer b/c all my bottles are filled in the fridge.

You should be very proud of yourself! It's hard work!

Congrats! You've done an amazing job! I'm slowly cutting back on my pumping at work. I hope to be done in 2 weeks. I'm really looking forward to it.

Re: No more pumping at work!

Good for you, I was pumping at work until about 8 months and then I wasn't getting very much, so now I just nurse her in the morning and the rest of her feedings are formula. Some women are blessed with great supply.Chat Icon

That is awesome! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I stopped pumping at work last week and I really feel like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. It was too stressful and I was not able to produce more than 6 oz the entire day. I would often get called into impromptu meetings as soon as I started pumping. Since we have been supplementing anyway, I felt it was OK to just add one more bottle of formula. I still nurse once in the morning and twice at night. The first week I was so engorged during the day but now it has tapered off.
Your daughter has definitely reaped the benefits of never having formula (as well as your wallet! Chat Icon )
