what really got me was the time Cailen was carrying around another kid's bottle - I don't know if he drank from it - and I don't even know if it was breast milk!!!! 
This would make me sooooo mad!
I know that is the reason Josh is hesitant to drink BM out of a cup...I am very cautious to only give it to him when the other boy I watch isn't around.
Can you suggest that they label BM bottles?

Liza, I could get fired on the spot if I was caught on my cell phone in the presence of children in my class. If there is an emergency, I would call for back-up coverage and remove myself from the room before picking up a phone.

That is just so rude and unacceptable for a teacher to do- I hope she learns her lesson. Parents would run to my principal to tell on me if I did that!
I hope she doesn't take it out on Calien but to give you a little perspective I have a bunch of parents who are completely obnoxious that I can't stand but I love their kids and don't not treat them badly because I don't like them.

After you said that, I always ask my parents if the teachers in Taylor's room are ever on cell phones or texting when they pick her up and they said no.....but then they seemed to know exactly who you were talking about!
they did, Right??? Because they have to walk thru his room with Taylor - so they have seen the same thing?
Since my mom usually is the one picking her up she said she knew who it was, so she must have seen her doing it as well. I also asked if she ever saw anyone in Taylor's room doing it just to make sure and she said she hasn't seen anyone else with a cell phone.
I would be even more worried that she isn't doing that when they bring the kids outside to play!

Totally unprofessional on her part, does the center have cameras in the roomsand on the playground? If so it would be very easy for th e director to observe her doing it

I'm glad that you spoke up since it was something that didn't sit right with you.
When I spoke up about Lucas not being in the classroom when I went to pick him up and about him eating something without my being informed, the director handled it right away and while there was some awkardness with the teachers for a short time...they never took it out on Lucas. Both teachers show him just as much affection as before and we are all back on good terms.
Hopefully she will at least be better with your son - if not...speak up.

Im not bothered by many things..but this would annoy the heck out of me!!!
I would be a little concerned that she isnt going to take proper care of Cailen though..(which Im sure is now a concern for you)..she sounds very immature and I could see this becoming another issue...KWIM?
ITA I think you should go back to the supervisor and tell her. maybe this chick should be working there.

All cups/bottles must be labeled with a child's first and last name in licensed NYS child care centers.
Liza if she gives you an attitude again I would go back to the director. That chick needs to know she works for you!! You pay her salary
