registry question
Need as many girls as possible to answer this...
When you registered did you register for a lot of clothes? No clothes at all? Only onesies and sleep and play outfits? If so how many onesies? Only white ones or did you get colors? What sizes?
I dont know if i should be registering for that or its too much...

Re: registry question
When I registered the woman who helped me set up my registry advised me to not register for ANY clothes. I said even onesies and socks and stuff and she said that the sku numbers on those things change pretty often with the seasons, so they aren't always available and in stock. She told me "don't worry, plenty of people will buy you clothes."
So...we didn't register for ANY clothes and yes, we did get SOME. I have also bought specific onesies (like long sleeve Carter's Side Snap) and socks that I wanted. This is my 2nd baby so I was pretty specific on certain clothing items that I wanted, and just bought them myself!

Re: registry question
We registered for a few small things (sleep sacks, specific onesies, etc) that I thought were cute but not much else. I have heard from others that often times people just pick them up.

Re: registry question
I will say that my standard gift for anyone who just had a baby (and I wasn't invited to the shower) is a pack of diapers and a couple onesies or a cute outift. I figure they can never have enough of either!
I tried to buy some clothes that a friend registered for once and I couldn't find one matching number in the store as on her registry printout. I thnk that stuff changes too much. If nothing else you will probably get a bunch of gift cards you can use for clothes.

Re: registry question
Did not register for ANY clothes. People sent tons of outfits after the boys were born. We were . I went and bought a ton of and clothes a few weeks before they were born and just returned what I didn't need.

Re: registry question
I registered for a few outfits that DH really liked and the sleep sacks. From the showers I have been to, you will get a TON of clothes. I already have a lot that people have given me and know I'll only get a lot more. Unless you really like an outfit/piece of clothing, I don't think you need to register for clothes.

Re: registry question
We registered for:
sleep sacks (the swaddling kind),
LOTS of side-snap undershirts (approx 15 of each size: newborn & 3 months) - they're a lot easier to change the newborn.
Nothing else in terms of clothes, people go out of their way to buy what they want...
ONE RECOMMENDATION: Do NOT wash everything... you will find that will not use everything. If you can return stuff for bigger sizes, I would. I wish I listened to friends and family when they told me this. I have TUBS of clothes that he never wore, and I could've exchanged for bigger sizes OR diapers OR formula.

Re: registry question
I didn't register for any clothes, just a few swaddling sacks and bibs.
That being said, my little girl already has a TON of clothes. People love shopping for cute little outfits!!! I have to sort through them soon and wash them so I don't know exactly how many onesies etc she has but I will probably wait until after my shower (this sunday) to buy anything else if she even needs it.

Re: registry question
All I registered for clothing wise was packs of plain white onesies, plain white side snap onesies and a few swaddles and sleepsacks. Oh and some socks.
Didnt register for ANY outfits because I know that he will most likely get a ton. And if he doesnt, I will return what I dont want and buy what I need...

Re: registry question
no clothes. I was told at BRU not to register for clothes cause they change it weekly. Also people seem to like to bring baby clothes as shower gifts.

Re: registry question
I registered for some plain white undershirts, sleep sacks, and then just one or two onesies that I just couldn't resist.
My sister had a baby girl just last year, so she's giving me all her stuff, and like OPs have said, I'm sure I'll get some outfits anyway.

Re: registry question
1 Sleepsack and 1 pack of 3 month onesies.
I figured baby will get LOTS of clothes at shower and they change at store anyays. I already had some friends buy baby clothes! id rather keep the stuff i need on the registry rather than what I want - people are going to get that anyway!

Re: registry question
Registered for none - got way more than I needed! Which was good bc I exchanged them for bigger sizes.
I knew I was having a girl, my sister wasn't finding out - she got almost no clothes, a few sleep and plays I think.

Pretty much the same for us. I have another shower next weekend and I have a feeling I will be getting more clothes from that. This is the first grandchild on my side and my mom and sister have been going crazy buying clothes. I did register for some plain white onesies and the registry girl said those should be ok. I also registered for sleep sacks.

Re: registry question
I only registered for plain white socks and white onesies (one pack of 0-3 and one of 3-6 I think). None of the items have been bought as far as I know and the shower's this weekend. I think people don't want the hassle of trying to find a specific clothing item and size from your registry. It can be pretty difficult to match things up. I've picked up a few things on sale and clearance and got a bunch of other clothing items from my parents and IL's already.
