Registering is overwhelming!!!!

Does anyone feel overwhelmed when they register? I did a ton of it online but when I am in the store I feel like I am walking around like a lost puppy. There is so much there - and so many different brands of the same thing - it's so hard to know what is the right thing to get.

Please tell me I'm not the only one that feels this way!!!!

Oh not alone at all. I hate registering. Especially when I have no idea what I should be looking for.

I took a friend of mine who has 3 kids with me & that helped a bunch.

Re: Registering is overwhelming!!!!

when we registered the first time around for my dd...we were in BRU for hours! It is so exhausting going through everything....just do a lot of research beforehand, so you know exactly what you want, this way its quick and painless!

Re: Registering is overwhelming!!!!

ME and DH just stared at each other, like OMG....

It was so funny.

I did all the big items online and even after we registered in store. I keep changing and adding and deleting online.

MUCH less craze inducing.

YES!!!!!
Do a little at a time. Do the big items first and then do the smaller items after that

Soooo glad I'm not the only one. And I am so paranoid that I am forgetting something important - as if I can't run to the store after my shower and buy it for myself! Chat Icon

Re: Registering is overwhelming!!!!

It is...I felt the same way!!
I ended up doing little things a few at a time and had my sister update it with the neccesary stuff. In reality, its harder since you just dont know what you need.

I am doing a little at a time...like if I read about something that I know I definitely want I will add it to my registry. I find that doing it online is much easier.

I felt the same way - I brought my SIL - (she just had her 3rd in Sept) with me & she told me what I needed & I pointed the gun to scan!

Don't worry about it and if you're unsure check other people's registry's, like your friends to see what they had on there. I went to BRU and BBB a ton of times with my mom and still after my shower realized some stuff I hadn't put on there. You'll get doubles and gift cards, I'm sure. Don't sweat it. You also have plenty of time to change and update things. Enjoy it!! Chat Icon

Re: Registering is overwhelming!!!!

It's so overwhelming!! The first time i was in BRU looking around, I left there in Tears!!

I started at 14 weeks with DD, i researched the big things, and did little by little, so it wasn't so much all at one time. I finished it up after my big sono when we found out the sex.

Def enjoy it, when I look back it was so much fun, I wish i could do it all over again with #2!

Its definitely overwhelming... I ended up having a friend come back with me to tell me what she uses and likes, which was soooo helpful. Do you know anyone with little ones who can help you?

Nope - you are not alone. I had the baby bargains book with me...we decided that I would read and DH would guide me around so I didn't bump into things because I kept referring to it. Chat Icon

Why buy for yourself when others can buy for you!

But I understand what you mean, I even tried to use the "guide" so that I would not forget anything. It helped, but not to the point where I am confident I have it all.Chat Icon

Re: Registering is overwhelming!!!!

It was very overwhelming for me, plus i did my bridal shower registry over the summer. I got the panicky feeling all over again, except this time, i am registering for things to take care of a little human being which i find even more stressful!

Re: Registering is overwhelming!!!!

I did a lot of research before we went to register so all the important stuff we knew right away what we were going to get. Other things I actually did online and I did a little at a time so I didn't find it overwhemling.

Re: Registering is overwhelming!!!!

It's not really the big stuff that is hard - I knew what I wanted and did that all online. It's all the little things that we need!
