Re: Registering?? BBB or BRU or other and why??

i feel like unlike a wedding there isnt many choices when registering for the baby......we personally registered at bru they had everything we liked BUT they do annoy me with how frequently they have things go out of stock especially since its coming closer to my shower....but like i said i felt there wasnt a lot of choices and i didnt wanan register at like 3 or 4 places

eta that we didnt want bbb bc of not only convenience of stores but they didnt have everything we liked they actually had very few things we wanted

Re: Registering?? BBB or BRU or other and why??

i only wanted to register at one place.

i wanted to do BBB since their return policy is better and they seem to be more knowledgable. but their locations weren't convenient. although there's one near me, many of my friends and family would have to drive an hour to get to one and i knew they wouldn't.

so for convenience of my friends and family i registered at BRU. it turned out okay--only one duplicate gift. their selection was fine and i used baby bargains and a friend to help me. they're changing their return policy to something horrific, but at least my shower is over.

i really like BBB and will probably go shopping there for myself, but since i was thinking of my shower guests, i registered at BRU.

i would not do a registry at target because their return policy stinks and i don't like their selection of anything.

Oh, I was just venting about the out of stock thing.....we found a pack n play we like FINALLY that will fit two babies and it's one of those "available online" things. Well, guess what, it's been out of stock for over 3 weeks and my shower is in 3 weeks, so nobody is going to buy it for us! The worst is I run over to BBB and they have like 20 in stock!! I do agree though, there are not many choices and out of BBB & BRU, I believe there are many more BRU in the tri-state area, so I wanted convenience for everyone, especially since many of my relatives are older and will not buy online.

I am soooooo annoyed about the out of stock bs, I get so frazzled thinking about it!!!! I could see if not one store had my pack n play, but after seeing BBB have it, there is NO excuse why BRU can't get it - I mean how many Graco's are there??? Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Registering?? BBB or BRU or other and why??

i did BRU because it was MUCH closer to us and most of my guests... also i did do most of my resgistery online, and BBB's web site does not have as much stuff as BRU...

Re: Registering?? BBB or BRU or other and why??

I went to both.

BBB - For larger and more expensive items such as big toys, strollers, high chairs etc. I felt they had a better choice of higher end things.

BRU - For more every day things like some clothing, feeding supplies etc.

Truth be told, I am not having a shower so odds are that most of what we chose will not be purchased. When Ed-lie makes her appearance, I will have had both registry lists reviewed with check marks next to each "must-have" item an my sisters will pick up what we need. Much of it, we will have bought ourselves and keep stored at my ILs house until she gets here.

I registered at BRU because of the location, it's much closer than BBB. I did have a few problems with them... people would buy items for me and they wouldn't be taken off of the registry. I was glad that the duplicates were sent to me and not things I got a the shower. They didn't take the Britax carseat off of the registry, but the box I received said that it was from my registry with our names and registry number on them.

Re: Registering?? BBB or BRU or other and why??

I will be creating a registry at BRU--we don't have BBB in NC, so a lot of people won't have heard of it.

I'm also going to do a small registry at Wal-Mart...they have the most AMAZING bedding and room accessories!!!

Re: Registering?? BBB or BRU or other and why??

i chose BRU because there are more of them around for the people who don't want to buy online, plus i found their prices to be much better that BBB. i have a tiny registry at BBB for my bedding, but that's it.

I registered at BRU because I felt they had a good selection, there are many locations on the island, and their website was waaaaaaaay more user friendly than BBB. I am happy with BRU so far, the changes to my registry show up right away and a few things have been purchased already and that has shown up on there as well. I got my bedding through BabySuperMall.com so I created a registry there too just for all the bedding accessories. Chat Icon

We registered at BRU because we live in Virginia and while there is a BBB near us, it wasn't convenient to most of our guests for the Shower. I also like the BRU return policy near me better - they will give you store credit if you don't have a receipt. Just yesterday I exchanged a size 1 pamper swaddlers for a box of size 2's... no questions asked. I also liked the 10% off registry completion coupon they send you so that you can buy what's left on your registry for 10% off. Not sure if BBB has a similar policy.

You can't go wrong with either place in my opinion.

I plan on registering at BBB, BRU and Pottery Barn for kids. I found things that I will in all 3 stores.

We'll be registering at BRU just because it's convenient for myself and my family.

I just felt like BRU and BBB would have basically the same kind of stuff. I couldnt be bothered going to more than one store so I went with where I felt more comfortable and registered at BRU

Re: Registering?? BBB or BRU or other and why??

We'll be registering at BBB and BRU. DH HATES BRU. He feels the setup of the store stinks and the sales people are not very knowledgeable. That being said, BBB is not convenient for all family members so they can also go to BRU. We may also do Pottery Barn or Target.
