recurrent miscarriages
I see Dr. K at LI IVF. He is sending me for a series of tests to try to figure out why i am miscarrying. I went this morning for a few. one was thyroid, one was lupus anticoagulant and another was a karyotype for chromosomes.
Does anyone know what these tests actually show and what results I am looking for??? I was so confused after my appt yesterday.
Also...i have to go for tenessee bloods and a water sono.
If anyone who can help me figure this out, I would appreciate it.
Sorry so long...Thanks so much!

Re: recurrent miscarriages
I had the recurrent miscarriage panel done, and they found I have a protein-s deficiency. This means that my blood clots to easily - clots can form around the placenta and cause a miscarriage. You can take anticoagulant meds to help with these problems.
I had to go see a hematologist about my results as well.
I don't know much about the chromosomal tests...

Re: recurrent miscarriages
I had the recurrent loss testing at LI IVF that you described. They are basically looking for issues with blood clotting, antibodies, structural issues in your uterus, and genetic conditions. Any of these can cause repeat MC.

Re: recurrent miscarriages
I have had 3 m/cs and 1 chemical pregnancy. These tests we all done on me and they found i have a chromosomal abnormality called and balanced translocation. I also went for blood clotting testing which are not back yet. All of this plus more can cause mc's.
