reccomend inexpensive shower locations?
can anyone recommend inexpensive shower locations. Nassau country preferred since there will be people coming from NJ.
I am MOH in wedding (this is my first time in a wedding) and the bridal party is paying for the whole shower ourselves. some were not expecting this and there is only 4 of us total. we set a limit of $2000 and the bride right now has 75 people on her list with kids. I assume that even with that number we probably wouldn't have more than 60 total.

Re: reccomend inexpensive shower locations?
We had a party last year at Elisa's Restaurant in North Bellmore. Very reasonably priced, good food and good service. I also had my daughter's bridal shower at Sal's Place on Hicksville Rd in North Massapequa. We had about 60 people and the space was perfect. It was a buffet. The food was great and the people there were so nice. It was fairly reasonable too.

we have halls on our list but I still want to price out restaurants. if total price per person could be 27 or less total (with tax and gratuity) we could make it work.
I should start another thread but is beer and wine required at one of these. this came up in conversation amongst us and I really don't know the norm is for bridal showers.

That's a low budget for that size party. So I'd look at using someone's house. Backyard party w tents or rent a room - fire house, NIghts of Columbus, etc and cater yourselves You can get bigger , harder dishes catered and do things like baked ziti and sides on your own. Much more cost effective and tasty

we are throwing around this idea but some are not thrilled with it. the groom has offered to chip in if need be but I feel funny asking him. just trying to weigh out all options before making a final decision.

Check out The Coral House in Baldwin
That's where we had my shower. It was more $ than $27 pp but my sister had sit down lunch and a lot added
They may have a buffet style at the price you are looking for
Hall is very pretty , convenient location and I loved the food

I think the fact you guys are doing this yourselves is more than enough. I wouldn’t worry about adding on the additional expense of beer and wine. Soft drinks is more than enough IMO. It's def not a must have item.

My shower was just there, I highly recommend it but it is a lot more then $27 , even with the buffet esp after tax and tip.
Mcquades in lynbrook and Magarthur Park in Rockville Centre both come close to that price and do very nice parties.
As far as alcohol I think you can get away with "day drinks " such as punch or mimosa for a shower. Most places will have a package with just that.

I love Elisa's! This is where I likely would be having dd's christening if we were doing it on LI.
