so I am on month 18 of trying to have a baby and to read on the pregnancy board about some crazy woman doing drugs while pregnant and people almost joking about it just made me sick to my stomach....why in the world does God give people like that a chance and leave the rest of us wanting! Sorry to be so harsh, but all I can think of is that sweet innocent little baby growing inside a monster!
I had to refrain from commenting on that thread because everyone joking about it made me SO mad. It's beyond inappropriate and not even the least bit funny.

yes it is disgusting, and i'm sorry if my comments on the thread offended you. i find it so incredibly shocking that someone would do that, and I chose to focus on the irony of the situation (as I think was the OP's intention) as opposed to the obvious moronic actions of the mother.

I don't think people were laughing at what that mother is doing (which is awful and reckless and stupid) but I think they were laughing at her ridiculous train of thought. It's always sad to me that some people try so hard to do the right thing and don't get what they want in return. Yet the screw ups seem to skate by just fine.

I think both the situation and the woman smoking the pot are disgusting. During the 2WW we are worried about something as innocent as taking advil or drinking coffee... And to know that during her pregnancy this woman is so not concerned and not thinking about her child is a crime!

july4mrsO... exactly right. her train of thought was so far fetched and ridiculous that you laughed at that. NO ONE laughed that she's smoking.
And you are soooo right when you say it's sad that people try so hard to dot he right thing and it seems to take mountains to climb over to get what they want. Yet other's who don't give a crap get everything 1,2,3.
I fell in the first boat. Hasn't been an easy ride for me at all. Meanwhile, this idiot I know gets it all handed to her on a silver platter and this is what she does with it.
I HAD to post about some things she's doing just because I was dumbfounded myself over it and I'm SO FAR BEYOND annoyed with her (for a few things) and I just needed to get the stupid idea of her actions out of me!

i didn't want to have a debate on her smoking... that point to me is moot... because it's completely disgusting. I don't think anyone on here wouldn't agree with that. I wasn't looking to have an open discussion about her smoking.

the reality is... NO ONE thought the pot smoking in itself was funny. And I for sure know I didn't. Actually I was quite annoyed when I found out about it through mutual friends.
I'm so disgusted with her that I didn't even go to her baby shower. Which she also smoked at.
Please do not put words in my mouth. And in BOTH the quotes you chose to list here... neither one am I saying "how funny is it that she's smoking pot".... the irony and the topic at hand was her thought pattern NOT her pot smoking.

Bear you are absolutely correct. I was not at all saying pot smoking during pregnancy is funny. Never once did I say that or laugh at that.
I've had a VERY hard journey through TTC. I suffered a MC at around 11 weeks and took it extremely hard. EXTREMELY hard. Anyone who knows me on here can vouch for that. It took a long time of trying to even get a BFP again. Nothing has come easy to me. There is no way in hell that I would laugh at someone abusing their pregnancy. Especially knowing what it took for me to get pregnant. I have not nor will I ever forget my journey to get to this place. And even now, being 20 weeks along... I am still fearful of what could happen. I thank god and st gerard on a daily basis for what I have now, and I pray to them daily to keep this baby safe.

People are different and will react differently to the same things. I'm at the point with this girl that I have to laugh at her stupidity. Not the same type of laugh as if I went to a comedy club... but a you are so dumb laugh. There's also a lot more to this girl and her doing's that you don't know about.
i think the disconnect here is that when you say you disagree with my saying "I didn't laugh at her smoking pot"... it's coming across as though you are calling me a liar. Perhaps it's something you would choose to not laugh at. that's one thing. But when I say "I didn't laugh at that" and you say "I disagree" and then post quotes of mine... it might not be coming across how you want it to.

she has been through a lot and i know her off these boards and i can say she is one of the sweetest people in this entire world..i cannot express how happy i am that she is preggo..she deserves this so much..
kerri is the type of person to give u the shirt off her back..if u ask for help on the board not only will she always offer her advice..she googles,does research to get u the best answers for it
she is just that caring..she was not poking fun she was laughing at how stupid this chick is and how deranged her train of thought

It makes me sick too. My baby was taken away from me and I see idiots with babies all the time in real life, you hear horror stories on the news and now I even read things on here that make my stomach turn.
I don't know why it works out the way it does. I will never understand it. It makes me sad and angry. I saw that post yesterday and it made me upset also.
I just keep teling myself that my time will come. Yours will too.

I agree with the OP. I find nothing comical about someone smoking pot during their pregnancy. I also don't get why the "irony" of her wanting a drug-free birth is so funny. The woman is obviously totally aloof, insane and/or dumb-- something must be wrong with her in the first place to even smoke pot pg. I think it's disgusting.

I agree!
This is so true. I worked with a woman who drank pretty regularly and smoked cigerettes throughout her whole pregnancy. She never hid it from anyone and even boasted about how her dr. said it was fine, which I do not believe whatsoever.
She had several health scares with the baby while she was pregnant and unbelieveably she delivered a healthy, full-term baby!
