Reaction to the flu shot

My almost 3 year old had the flu shot on Wednesday afternoon and that night broke out in hives all over his legs. The doctor said to give benadryl over night. The next morning they were cleared up but they returned a few hours later so we went back to the doctor and she gave him zyrtec. Since then they clear up for a few hours but keep coming back. He's also had a low grade fever for the past 3 days. The hives are not itchy and don't bother him but obviously something is not right. I'm not looking for medical advice, just wondering if anyone else has had this happen. I felt pressured to give him the shot and now I'm so upset about this. He had the shot the previous 2 years without issue and has no allergies to eggs or anything else that we know of.

Its it possible he just picked up a virus while at the doctor (or elsewhere)? Dd had a virus with low glade fever and hives once. Came out of nowhere, lasted a few days, and then was gone. We gave her claritin daily and benadryl as needed.

This. Sounds like a coincidence.

So strange you ask this. DS got it Friday. Friday afternoon, he started coughing. Felt warm. Coughed all day yesterday, stuffy, congested, today, very bronchial. He had a few hives last night.

IMO, it's DEFINITELY a reaction. It's too coincidental and 2 years ago, he had the mist and STILL had the flu.

Re: Reaction to the flu shot

I would say it is a reaction. What to do with that info, I don't know.

My thoughts would be it is a reaction.
