RE - UPDATE
Is it too soon to go see an RE? My last pack of BC pills ended on Feb. 6.
I've heard that it can take up to a year to regulate after the Pill. But my cycles now are exactly the same as they were before I went on the Pill, 11 years ago - first one was 49 days, second was 74. I'm on day 25 of my 3rd cycle and haven't o'ed yet so this one will be at least 40 days as well.
I really don't want to go on meds if I don't need them, and put myself and DH through the stress of testing if all I have to do is give it time... or if they're going to turn me away anyway and tell me to wait.
UPDATE: I just got a phone call from my GYN regarding yesterday's sono. She told me that my ovary is polycystic and that I should go right to an RE. I called and got an appointment for next Tuesday.
I never would have done it so quickly if it weren't for the girls on this board. Thank you so much.

Re: Six months after BC Pills / RE
you can see an RE. you dont have to wait. i went after 6 months off of BCP. i only had one real ovulatory cycle in that time. it was the best decision i ever made in regards to fertility/TTC.
good luck!!

Re: Six months after BC Pills / RE
You can definitely see an RE.
Seeing an RE does not mean you have to go on Meds. They may just be able to give you more insight on how your body is wroking.

My doc wants me to go to Reproduction Specialists of NY - Dr. Sung. I checked her out on the IF board and lots of girls said nice things about her so I made the appointment right away.

Re: RE - UPDATE
i actually went to the RE today after only about 4 months of trying. I am soooooooooooo glad i went. I already had bloodwork, sono and going for some other stuff next week as well as DH. It's reassuring to know that things are being looked into and if there is an issue then it will be found. I feel so much better about TTC and moving forward.

Do you mean the RE did a sono and bloodwork at your first appointment, or that you'd already had them done before?
I'm trying to figure out what to expect with the RE appointment! Doctors make me so nervous.

Quadruplets?! Heaven forbid!
Seriously, though, thanks for the nice words.
To everyone: It's been tough talking to DH about this because as understanding as he's trying to be, I think you have to be a woman to "get" a lot of the frustration and sadness of all this. Thank you so much for your sympathetic ears and your kind thoughts.

DH's can be like that sometimes. My DH gets frusturated sometimes with me and then I get all upset, but when I stop and take a look at the situation - he is right - I am obsessing over every little thing, and not a day (or conversation for that matter) goes by where I don't somehow bring it up. He says he really just wants me to relax because it WILL happen for us. So, that's why I come on here a LOT!!! To drive you ladies crazy with my rants, questions, comments and concerns.
That's what we are all here for

YES! He did it on first appt. Sono was no problem to do. I got VERY lucky with the bloodwork. The bloodwork needed to be drawn on CD3 and I just happened to be on CD3 on my visit. Also, Im going for an HSG xray on monday. I once again got lucky with this bc it needs to be done btw CD8-CD10. DH and I are going for more bloodwork (karyotype) tomorrow and lastly DH gets to do a semen analysis. Very exstensive.
