Re: Random Question-Do you charge your cell phone overnight?

I charge mine only when there is almost no battery left. My DH always reminds me to take it off of the charger once it is done as to not ruin it by overcharging it.

I charge mine every day because my phone is pretty much dead by the end of the day

Re: Random Question-Do you charge your cell phone overnight?

I am really bad at remembering to charge my phone so I typically will have it get really low in battery and then suddenly remember after like 3 days to charge it up. Chat Icon

I really should get a car charger. Sometimes when I wake up to go to work and see I have almost no battery left, I bring my charger to work with me and charge it there for the commute home. I really don't like driving with a 'dead' cellphone!

I charge my phone maybe once a week (I hardly use it & so I often forget until it is almost dead). I do charge it over night though, I didn't know this was bad for the battery!

Re: Random Question-Do you charge your cell phone overnight?

I charge it about every other night, unless i used it a lot and the battery is low.
i also never turn my phone off.

What I have heard (and it sounds logical, but not sure how true it is) is this.. if you continually charge your phone say when it still has 1/2 a charge, it builds sort of a memory to that and ends up only using that 1/2 charge - as its full charge. Ive heard it is good to occasionally let your phone run really low and then charge it.

this is why our protable phones in our homes dont last as long either, because we use the phone and put it back on the charger, instead of letting the battery run really low then charging.

dh charges his overnight usually. I wait until the battery is low only because I was told that charging it overnight is bad for it.

Re: Random Question-Do you charge your cell phone overnight?

Hmmm, my experience is different Chat Icon

I charge my phone when the battery gets low, and i charge it until I remember it's on the charger Chat Icon Sometimes its a couple of days. BUT when it i done charging, it says "charging complete" so I assume that even though it is plugged in, it isn't charging anymore.

I have never had to get a new battery, and I have had this phone for 5 years. Also, it holds a charge for as long as it always has.

My husband, on the other hand, has gone through 3 batteries in 3 years. He is FREAKED about charging his phone, and never charges it for more than a few hours (until it is done). And it hardly holds a charge - so often I've been woken in the middle of the night with the low battery beep. Chat Icon

Maybe it is the phone? I have always had phones from Sprint - DH Verizon.

I have two batteries, when the one in my phone dies, I swap batteries and charge the other. I don't let it sit in the charger after it is fully charged.

I have a Treo for work. The last Treo I had, I'd go a couple of days prior to charging it.

They made the batteries slimmer so the charge isn't held for as long so now I have to charge my phone at night and once during the day for me to be able to commute to/from work with a phone that isn't dead.
