Quite possibly the most beautiful picture I've ever seen.....
So I am very happy to announce that I am returning to this board, and God willing will be able to bring home a healthy baby this August  Some of you might remember my story from last year when we lost our daughter Grace at 22 weeks along, she had 2 heart defects (VSD/hole in the heart and a double outlet right ventricle) and a brain mailformation (dandy walker variant). I was very hesitant to post here again, fearing the isolation it brings if we were possibly facing yet another loss (I also miscarried at 8weeks in 2009).....but, after having an early anatomy scan this morning at 16 weeks along, I am so happy and cautiously confident to say......we are having a healthy baby!!!! I have been on the verge of tears all day, such a mix of emotions, I can't explain it. Tears for Grace, as I would never want to feel this pregnancy "replaces" her, and tears of joy for what is to come. I can't believe this is really happening for us, it feels so surreal and I still feel so cautious until we pass 22 weeks.
So the baby's brain and heart both looked great today! The heart had all 4 chambers and the aorta and pulmonary valves are going in the right direction (unlike last time). The doctor said there should not be much change from the 16 week scan to 20 weeks. The only thing she can't confirm yet is whether a hole in the heart/VSD is present, since the heart has to be bigger to confirm (but that would be the *least* of any issue we could have!), but we're also going for a fetal echocardiogram at 22 weeks to make sure. Today was our first really big hurdle, and I am so happy everything looked so great!! 
I wanted to say to anyone who has experienced loss, especially late term losses, don't ever lose hope! I was diagnosed with lupus last summer after our loss and also found out I am homozygous for the C677T MTHFR gene mutation (which inhibits your body's ability to absorb folic acid).....I took charge of my health and I have never felt more prepared for pregnancy......always remember to take care of yourself first, a healthy you can hopefully bring a healthy pregnancy  At least that seems to be the case for me. May God bless all of us with healthy babies!!!

 .....hello there little one, can't wait to meet you in August!!! Please keep us in your prayers, thank you!!
btw, if by chance you know me IRL (doubtful since us 07'ers are so few & far between on this board!), please don't say anything on FB, we don't know when we will "out" ourselves, but DH and I aren't comfortable with telling everyone yet.
