Quick question about Prune juice and constipation

Hi BTDT Moms,

I correspond with my GI via email so I figured I'd get a quicker answer from you guys.

I have been adding rice to his bottles for spit up and he's kind of constipated. GI doc told me to add 1 ounce of prune juice to his bottles of formula.

Question is, if I normally give DS 4 oz of formula, will i now be giving him 5 oz of liquid (4 formula + 1 prune juice) or will I be replacing 1 oz of formula with prune juice and will still give him 4 oz total (3 formula + 1 prunce juice)?

Sorry if it sounds like a stupid question but I'm feeling particularly clueless and like a bad mother today. It's been one of those days. I actually cried with him for the 1st time today.

I would try adding it to the formula for 5 oz, just see if He can drink the whole thing, if not then Just do 3 oz formula one oz juice
