Quick Freddy Update
Late breaking bulletin:
Freddy is speaking and making sense. Holy Crap! We had a whole convo tonight and he knows everything. He even remembered the name of an old girlfriend.
Sadly, though he thinks that no one visits him. Well duh! You've been out of it for the last 5 weeks..you didn't know that we held vigil at your beside almost every day.
One of his doctors was there tonight and even noticed that his urine output was better. He will talk to the kidney doc tomorrow about it. Maybe is kidneys are coming back..I wasn't just imagining it. It would make such a big difference in his recovery if he didn't have to do dialysis. This doctor actually thought that the neurologist who told us that he may make a recovery was nuts. He said I never thought he could come this far...I told him that's why we are not neurologists. I guess med school pays off.
He was flabbergasted that when he went to see Fred, Fred stuck out his hand to shake his hand.
Fred needs a manicure. Tomorrow...nail clippers. He's trying to bite them off..we told him to hold off until tomorrow. He was trying to get out of bed and trying to rip of all his leads and the catheter..he wants out!!
He told his son that he would take it all back to have this all not have happened to him. We told him that we can't change the past but he's got a second change to make it right and he is not in it alone. We will be with him every step of the way.
He was worried about his job and I was telling him what I have been doing to make sure he is financially solvent and how I am trying to get a sick day drive to get him more sick days. He was happy about that.
It looks like I may not need that Power of Attorney and Notary afterall..in a few days his docs may deem him mentally stable enough to sign his own documents.
WOW!!!
I guess this wasn't so quick.
