questions for moms that know about thomas the train shows
dd is starting to like Thomas the train... she watches sometimes when it comes on sprout at like 8:45am. I started to look for more episodes throughout the day and dvr them... but when I went to play one for her that had been on at 4:30 - it was different. older maybe. there wasn't the singing in the beginning - and that's what she likes. is it the newer episodes that are on in the morning? is this the only time it's on? are they all only like 11 minutes long? and is there a dvd with back to back episodes I can get her? thanks

There are old episodes and newer episodes. The newer ones have more current style animation (although it's still pretty dated). The shows on Sprout are only 10 mins or so but PBS has half hour versions. And be glad you don't have to hear the song! LOL

That song drives me nuts! I don't even get it - is that sad? Lol.

We are a thomas family here, though I feel hes already getting bored with it. Anyway, I hate the older ones. Not the animation that's kind of interesting, but the trains are so mean. Sprout runs the older ones, I don't think PBS Kids does as much. You can also check out the DVDs from the library or buy on amazon, those are newer, and there are a ton. I love Disney, we watch Jake and Doc, but don't get Chuggington.

are they mean?? dd is only 11 months and watches very little tv, and I pay attention to what she watches as well as her reactions... the episodes she's seen they don't seem mean at all to me. it seems like there's a "lesson" in each episode, which I like. I tried chuggington for her today - she couldn't have cared less. the song at the beginning and end of the Thomas's she's seen, is the 1st and only thing that has grabbed her attention since mickey mouse clubhouse (which is like a drug to her lol)

DS loves Thomas... old and new episodes. Sprout plays both the old and new versions. You can check Sprout on demand, they have Thomas on there. HTH

Re: questions for moms that know about thomas the train shows
We rented some of the DVD's from the library.. We were able to find the ones DS liked more and then went and bought them in the stores... Some are only $5... DS is starting to outgrow Thomas now. He will be 4 in a few weeks...

the best is my 3 year old knows the second the music starts playing if it's an old one and tells me to delete it from the DVR

Re: questions for moms that know about thomas the train shows
We prefer the old ones to the new ones in my house. We DVR the ones on PBS and don't bother with the ones on Sprout.
