Questions about Transitioning from Bottle to Sippy
We have started working on getting Jordan off the daytime bottles to a sippy. I am used to giving him a bottle at a separate time than meals. But, his babysitter is telling me that when you give the sippy, you give with meals, not separately...is that what you do? I know he is not going to drink a full sippy of milk with a meal, so what do you do - give throughout the day?
Any hints are appreciated!!

I gave it all throughout the day.. separately and with meals. Whenever she was thirsty she got a sippy.

Curious if that takes away from water consumption though - because now when he's thirsty, and it's not a meal or bottle time, he gets a sippy of water, kwim?

Re: Questions about Transitioning from Bottle to Sippy
I give her Sippies of formula at the same times that I used to give a bottle. That's generally an hour or 30 min before meal time. When she's at daycare she gets them at the same time and then she gets water in between. So I guess the answer is whatever works best for you.

That's what I was thinking (to give like I was a bottle) but I can't imagine he's going to "down" the sippy cup like he does a bottle. If he doesn't, do I then still offer the rest at the next meal?

DS drinks way less milk than he did when he was on formula....not sure how old he is, but we just gave sippys of water throughout the day, and with meals. Milk was for before bedtime, and before naptime only, and maybe when he wakes up in the am.
