Transitioning from bottle to sippy

Hoping someone can actually give me some useful advice. Ds has used the cup for water now for MONTHS, but will not drink milk from it no matter how hard we try. He will literally toss it on the floor and would rather go without. I am looking for real advice here not just someone telling me how he shouldnt have a bottle anymore.

was there a particular kind of sippy or some way pf presenting the milk that made it easier. Tbh, if it were for the lack of motor control he wouldprefer a regular cup over a sippy any day. He will take any liquid in a regular cup for some reason.

DD was never into regular sippys - only the straw sippys and I think that's just because I usually use a straw in my cup so she probably had straw envy. I would try a straw cup or try a regular cup with a straw. She found the valves frustrating so I just get the plain 'ole take 'n toss ones - they work great for her. We got rid of bottles in less than a week once we found these for her.

the way the spout is made, it makes them feel like they're drinking from a regular cup.

loey will NOT drink milk from a sippy cup at all. he does a little bit better with the straw cups - have you tried those?

I've tried straw sippies, and if its water or juice, great...milk just isnt happening. I will try the ones in the pic and see. Today I tried a nuby one that looked like a bottle and he still didnt want the milk. I think we need to call it quits for a little because ds and I are getting frustrated. I may just bring a little milk in a sippy to daycare in about a week and have them give that to him when the others are drinking theirs. My monkey may respond better that way. I just dont think hes ready yet, but I feel pressure.

This is the same exact problem we are having!!! No advice...but thanks for posting.

ETA: When DS started using the sippy cup/straw cup for juice/water we used a sport bottle from Munchkin. It worked with that. Tonight, I opened the refrigerator and said "Woah what a cool cup (with the sport bottle in hand) and poured milk in there and he drank from it. I don't know what will happen tomorrow but it's a start. I'm hoping he takes to this one and then we can go to the sippy or straw for milk.

We actually bought DD sippy cups that had elmo/abby on them, since she is in love! We actually put on elmo/sesame street, or barney and she will drink. My nanny actually just did it one day.

I have to say, while the transition was easier than i thought it would be, the amount of milk she took at the time did decrease. The first week was the toughest just figuring out what worked for her. Now she is a pro. We sit her on the couch in the am/pm, put on a show, and give her the milk. She drinks way more at night than she ever used to.

I have to say, DD isn't big into tv, so if there is a show that they are into, I say try with the distraction. that was actually my nanny's advice! She also said follow through. once you start, don't go back. we haven't looked back!
