Question for those with landscapers
Did anyone else get charged an extra fee for Hurricane Irene cleanup? My landscaper charged us an extra $50 when all we had were a few twigs, nothing major that they had to clean up. Wondering if this is normal.

YUP, $50 and I spend hours picking up all the sticks and branches BEFORE he came. There was only leaves on the lawn. Grrrrr

Wonder if we have the same guy lol. My parents use the same company as us and they did not get charged the hurricane fee!! This is the final straw w these guys, I'm using another company next year

Yes, $30 extra. We have a very tree'd property and it was worth it.

Not us. Although our landscaper often does "extra" stuff w/o charging if he feels we need it. (extra weed treatments, etc). We pay him a flat fee, in cash, at the start of the season and then the yard is on autopilot.

We did. I found it annoying. I didn't authorize the additional the work or additional charge so I found it ballsy that they added it.

We offered our landscaper an extra $75 to clean up our yard, BUT we live on an acre lot with lots of trees and we had debris everywhere. We didn't do any clean up ourselves before he came. I wouldn't think of suggesting he clean up that mess without extra payment.
ETA- We love our landscaper, he's very reasonably priced, very hardworking and works alone. I always feel like he doesn't charge enough, lol!
