Question for Moms with babies close in age...
My DS will be 16 months when my DS#2 will be born. I am so worried that my first will be so upset that I am not home for a couple of days. DH said he will bring him everyday but I am feeling so guilty now that it is happening in the next couple of weeks. Any advise on how you dealt with this?
TIA

Re: Question for Moms with babies close in age...
DS1 was 25 months when DS2 was born. Believe me with all the grandparents watching him, spoiling him with toys and other family and friends giving him attention he was too busy to notice. Yes, he missed me and got upset, but so much stuff to be busy with. DS2 was born in the summer so they took turns taking him to visit me shortly then go to the park, pool, home for a nap, etc. It was fine. Believe me it will be a fast couple of days and you'll be home before you know it. You're giving DS the best thing... a sibling he will be so close with. My boys are now 4 and 2 and play so cute together (sometimes ). I wouldn't have it any other way.

Re: Question for Moms with babies close in age...
My girls are 14 months apart. My daughter did fine without me but I was a mess without her. Cried the whole night. The nurses actually pushed up my checking out time so I could be home with her. I was only in the hospital for 24 hours after her birth, that was the earliest they would let us go.

My DS is 16 months apart from my DD and he was fine the 2 days without me (im a SAHM too!). He was so young, and really didn't have a concept of "time" plus my DH was home and my parents watched my kids while DH visited me. It would be harder if he was older, but I wouldn't worry too much.

Question for Moms with babies close in age...
I was worried about this, too. When I was in the hospital after having ds via csection, that was the only time I was away from dd, who was 16 months old. It was way harder on me than her!
