Question for mommies with kiddies that take Miralax on a daily basis
We switched from Exlax to Miralax recently and she has been taking it daily for a few weeks now. She is 2.5 years old and is potty trained, but would have problems straining when trying to poop which resulted in her having a rectal prolapse a few times. It is now under control with the Miralax and doctors say it is safe for long-term use - but i was just wondering how many other mommies were told the same thing.
Im a bit worried about giving it to her every day. I occasionally will skip a day and she is fine - she just won't poop - BUT - i don't want her to become dependent on it at such an early age.
Any suggestions? any advice?
TIA

Our dr. told us the same thing - it is very safe, my dd was on it for about 2 months, I started giving it every other day once she started to poop daily and now she is 100% off it, but I keep it in the house and do give it sparingly if I see she hasn't gone in 2 days or so.

Re: Question for mommies with kiddies that take Miralax on a daily basis
DS has been on it for about 6 months now- 1/2 cap every morning in his oatmeal.
I don't like it either but I was assured it was safe- my ped's daugther was on it for a long time too.
My thought is that in a few months I will reduce it to 1/4 cap daily until I can wean him off of it.

We are still using it here, for about 5 mths now.
Told it's totally safe. Don't like it but have no other choice...I give about 1/4 to 1/2 cap each day. I try to give as little as possible, depending on what she has eaten that day.
