Miralax Question for those DC that take it daily....

Do you use the powder form or the liquid form??

My husband bought the powder form yesterday - but i am sure i've seen the liquid form out there....

Which one do you give to DC ? Powder or liquid? Also how much do you give and how old is your child? If you give the powder form - how much do you give?

MY child is 2 years old.

Tia.

I have used the powder daily..for a long time..I have stopped it though..I started giving it to her around 2 1/2..I would go by the line in the cap...It would be half of the first line..seemed to do the trick..put it in some milk or juice..there is no taste. She didn't even know I would put in in!!

DS was taking it for maybe a year, up until Jan. He was just over 2 1/2. We used the powder. We started out giving him 1/2 cap and his situation became so severe, we gave him a full cap once a day to two days. It completely dissolves in a minute or 2 and he never knew it was there.

I just started giving DS Miralax last week- He is almost 15 months. He gets a 1/2 cap full ( 1/2 of the 17 g cap) in a bottle a day. Helps tremendously!

I've never seen a liquid form.

DD has been on it since about 13 months, she's 3.3 years old now.

DS was on lactulose (liquid RX) when he was an infant and we switched to miralax when he turned 1. He's still on it at 20.5 months.

I never saw it in liquid, only powder.

DD is 15 mths and we started with 1/4 capful daily, but are more like at 1/2 capful daily, in about 4 oz juice.

We use powder. I'm a pharmacist and as far as I know there is no liquid. It's tasteless. Just put it in water or juice. That's what we do. Both my kids have taken it.

Re: Miralax Question for those DC that take it daily....

I as an adult was on it for years (even before it became available over the counter) and I don't think there is a liquid version.

It really is not bad to take. I mix it in juice. No advise on how much to give a child.

ETA: for all of the things I had to take for digestion problems Miralax made the biggest difference and was the easiest one to wean off of -- it really is not addicting at all!
