Odd and rude
I would have asked in front of everyone where the Crumbs were at.
I used to have a co-worker that would do something similar to this. When folks brought wine over for dinner parties he would take the better bottles for his collection and put out crappier bottles. Eventually folks learned to never bring him good wine.

I would be annoyed that I spent my money on something only she was going to enjoy. If she wanted to keep them for herself, she should have given you back your money!
