* QOTD 9/13 *

I always think about when my future LO is older and starts asking questions about mommy and daddy and how we met, fell in love- I can’t wait for those conversations, even though I know they are so far away.

Anywho, today’s question- How did you and DH meet? Did you guys fall in love right away?

DH works as a bouncer at the bar/lounge I used to go to. I looked at him, he looked at me and something just happened. Everything with us moved super fast. We started dating in August, he moved in with me in November and we were engaged in January.

We met in college...I thought he was the biggest @ss I had ever met but after getting to know him we started dated and we are going on 9 yrs together.

DH and I went to H.S. together, same class. We had some mutual friends in another grade and all of us use to hang out a lot, especially in sophmore year. I always thought my DH was cute, I use to flirt with him like a maniac, and eventually one day we just started spending time together alone and the rest is history.

1991 - (age 16) Started "officially" dating
1997 - (age 22) Got engaged our last semester of college (went to college together too!!)
1998 - (age 23) Married!!

So we've been together now for 20 yrs. and married for almost 13 years!!

We met April of 2006 in Las Vegas (we were both 25)! We were both there for a huge tradeshow and were at a private, industry only, party at one of the nightclubs. I was running away from some scary guy trying to dance with me and was looking for my boss (was only with the company for 3 months at this time) and was walking straight and looking right.... and there is DH walking straight and looking the other way and we LITERALLY ran into each other

I was living in NJ and he was all the way out eastern Long Island. We had our first "date" the next night in Las Vegas with a chaperonne -- the only other female that worked with me -- we couldn't leave her alone with the 4 guys.

We ended up dating and the weekends in the summer me and my cat would drive out to LI to spend the weekend, and in the winter he would come visit me in the weekends.... I ended up movign in with him in LI July of 2007 and we got engaged December of 2008 and married October of 2010!

We met through AOL (yep... Throwin it back!). I searched for guys in my neighborhood and he popped up and happened to be online at the same time. But funny thing is he no longer lived in the area but still had it in his profile. Had he taken it out, I never would've met him! Hehe.

10 1/2 long years ago... Dont remember when we really fell in love... But it's been growing ever since

In 2001 I was an auditor and permanently placed at one client. DH worked there, I walked by him like 10 times a day, we never spoke. 2005, I started working for my client but in another building. 2006, switched positions and went back to original building. We went to lunch with the same people everyday, within 2 months we were inseparable!

Just funny since I saw him everyday for years and we never spoke!

Met my DH on Match.com. I had been divorced for about a year and was having a hard time meeting someone, so decided to try online dating...we dated a year, broke up, and then got back together. October will make 9 years since our first date..time flies!!!!

We met in 2002....I worked in a gym...he worked out there. I could tell he liked me....and then one night I was walking out to my car at night, and he knocked on my car window (dressed in regular clothes)....asked for my number. He asked me out on several dates, and I said No everytime....came up with every excuse in the book!! We called him "stalker" in my circle of friends. He stopped showing interest, and I got nervous (typical girl)...and I told him I would go out with him. We were serious within the first couple weeks...and pretty much lived with me within the first 6 mths at my Mother's house. Got engaged in 2006, and married in 2008.

We went to HS together but were just "Hi, Bye" friends. After graduation I went away to school & never moved back. About 6 yrs ago I moved back to Long Island, I was trying to figure out what to do w/my life. I had just left a horrid career, and a dead end relationship. I took a temp position at an office to figure out my next move.

While working his part time job, DH came into the office. He recognized me right away and started chatting me up. I gave him my # and the rest is history.

Ok bear with me girls........this one might be lengthy, but hilarious :

DH and I met on a blind date......set up by our MOTHERS.......on December 18, 1999! We had planned to meet at TGI Friday's in Rockville Centre, and we both agreed to bring a friend or two, just to help ease the awkwardness. So I get to TGIF's with my girlfriend and I see a guy standing outside with two other people and I *think* it's DH. Wasn't sure though. So I go inside and have them page him over the PA system, lol. Turns out it's him, so we meet and are chatting while we're waiting for our table.

Dinner comes, I ordered a salad, he hated it. He was all excited for the dinner, and I ordered a freaking salad, lol.

Then we go to a pool hall nearby, River City if anyone remembers it. Well if you know the parking lots in RVC, you know it's horrendous to find parking over there. At the time, my grandfather was living with us and I used to drive him everywhere. I just *happened* to have his handicapped sticker in my car......so what do I do as a dumb teenager? Speed down past DH and his friends and pull into the handicapped spot, lol. Already pissing him off big time.

We play a few rounds of pool, I'm having a great time, apparently he was MISERABLE. He liked my friend more than me! He swears to this day, that I overheard him telling my friend that he doesn't dance and that I came up to him, looked him in the eye for the first time the whole night and said "I hope you dance.......because I don't date anyone who doesn't dance......" I swear I don't remember this.

So a little while later, the song Angel from Aerosmith comes on the juke box. I get happy and start singing to it, as it's one of my favorite songs ever. DH goes to the bathroom.

Eventually he comes back and we decide to call it a night. Of course we're already fighting over who's going to pay, since he paid for dinner (and my salad). I go into my purse and notice that there's something in it that doesn't belong there. I pull it out, and it's the Aerosmith "Big Ones" cd......it's their greatest hits cd, and what song is on it, but Angel!!!!!! When he said he was going to the bathroom, he really went out to his car, got the cd, and somehow snuck it in my purse!!!!!

We said goodbye, and he thought he was never going to see me again. Well I called him the next day to thank him for a wonderful time, and almost 12 years later, here we are, married for just over a year, I still have the cd, and Angel was our first dance song at our wedding

DH and I met at my first day of work on 4/23/07. We started dating on 6/23/07, moved in together on 12/23/08, got engaged on 5/23/09 and got married on 4/29/11 (the 23rd was booked EVERYWHEREEEEEE)

we have this "23" theme going on with us. Our favorite song is is "23" by jimmy eat world, and there is a specific song lyric that DH sang to me right before he proposed. "No one else will have me like you do, No one else will have me, Only You". I actually have the lyrics as a tattoo

We meet at work. He was determined to have me while I was hesitant especially since I was with someone at the time. Well, he def. insisted we started dating shortly after got engaged a year later and married a year after that

We were friends for about 1.5 years before we started going out. I had absolutely no intention of getting together with him, he was just a good, fun friend. I think he had the same intention. Then we just started talking more and more alone, on the phone. We actually didn't even hang out alone together until our first date. I just knew we loved eachother and I knew we would get married. We just knew. I'm so happy I married my best friend.

went to high school and college together..he was literally my best friend

when me and my old bf of 5 years broke up he put the moves on me..i said no at first bc he was my best friend but i gave in

We met at work and he fell into our circle of friends. i was dating someone else and not interested. We were friends for a few years.. I actually tried to hook him up with my best friend at the time. It didn't work out (he later told me) because he had eyes for me I was busy having fun and chasing guys that were no good for me...so I told him I didnt want to date him... so anyway, we remained friends for 2 years and he became the guy I always talked to and one night it kinda just all came together and he asked me out again. I agreed and so glad I did. He an dI are EXACT opposites but we compliment each other in a lot of ways... That was 7 years ago and we've been married almost 5 years.

This is a long one lol

We first met in early 2001. I was in HS and worked at a store and was friendly with my co-workers and DH was one of their friends. We went to go hang out after work but DH didn't want to so we dropped him off at home. I thought he was a Dbag Fast forward to July 2001, he started hanging out with our mutual friends but he kept to himself usually, only spoke about video games and whatnot. One night, I looked like a hot mess- sloppy ponytail, mismatched sweats. We were sitting outside and I said something about me looking like ish. He told me that he thought I looked cute. From then on I thought differently about him and I'd flirt whenever I'd see him. We started talking on AIM and then one night I found out that someone told him that I liked him! Oh the horror for an 18 year old girl! We IMed each other and finally spoke about our feelings. We thought it wouldn't be a good idea for us to go out since I was leaving for college in less than a month.

August 2, 2001, my dad gave me 4 tickets to an afternoon Yankee game so I invited DH and 2 of our mutual friends. I remember wearing a low cut shirt After the game, we drove back to LI, had dinner and then as we went to go meet up with our other friends, my transmission blew on Hempstead Tpke! DH and one friend pushed the car into a parking lot as another one steered. We waited and waited for a tow and then we all ended up back at my house to play poker since I was then carless. The next night, I was back at work and one of our friends came into the store. He pulled me to the side and said that DH really liked me but is afraid to ask me out because I was leaving for school in 3 weeks and his dad is racist (He doesnt like anyone non-Italian and I'm a non-Italian mutt... he loves me, btw). He then said that if DH were to ask me out, would I say yes. I said of course. I finished my shift and then went out to meet them and waited all night for him to ask me out. When I got home that night, I went on AIM and got an IM from a mutual friend saying she heard that DH and I were going out! Well, apparently, when our other friend came into the store that night, he was asking me out FOR DH! I just thought it was a hypothetical! So that's how we started going out.

I left for freshman year at college 3 hours away 3 1/2 weeks later. We spoke every single day and night and basically fell in love over the phone. The first 4 years of our relationship were mostly long distance with me being home only in the winter, summer, breaks, and the occasional weekend.

Yesterday was our 2 year wedding anniversary

We met in college. I had seen him many times around campus and we had a few mutual friends. When I first met him, I was seeing someone else and was not looking for anyone so he was not really on my radar. Needless to say, when that relationship ended I realized I was interested in my DH. I went to a party that he was going to and had my first real conversation with him. He asked me out the next day.

I used to work at Carvel in Copiague when I was 16 and one of the "girl" jobs was to windex the glass doors after the store closes. One night DH came riding up on this crazy bicycle with two of his friends that were my friends too. I was talking to one of them and noticed how cute DH was. But he didn't talk. They wanted ice cream and I denied them bc the store was closed.

Fast forward to when school started and DH was in my Chemistry class. We started to talk and we became friends. It was always a joke that I denied him ice cream. We would talk every day and I liked him, but it didn't work out. I told him we were going to get married and have kids, he thought I was crazy!! (who is the crazy one now, huh?!?!)

When the end of the school year came up, I asked him to his senior prom and he told me "no, I'm ok" so basically I told him to go eff himself. Buttt, he then apoligized and asked me out.

He proposed in front of that same Carvel where we met 4 1/2 years later.

we met at a family function, and i don't think we fell in love right away.. it was gradual, it almost like we knew this was going to be it, and we knew we were meant to be but we proceeded with caution.. but i think firmly accepting that this the person I want to spend the rest of my life with happend when without even us realizing it.. like one day i swear it just dawned on me that, OMG I love this man, he is my heart and soul.. and then he went through something, and the deal was sealed..

This is such a great question!!!

I can't wait for the day to come where I can tell my little one this story.

DH and I were set up with one another so we were eachothers Blind date. At first I didn't want to date after getting out of a really bad relationship. I just wanted to stay single for a while but I gave him a chance and I'm so thankful I did! I received a picture of him with info on the back and so did he of me! After a week of talking on the phone everynight we decided to plan our first date! DH and I hit it off right away and sparks flew the very first night! After just shy of 3 months I fell in love with him. We had a special bond then and a much stronger bond now which can never be broken. We waited a long time before we got married, but it was so worth the wait! We are now much stronger then ever and every day I fall more and more in love with him!!
