QOTD 6/13/11
Not sure if this was asked before.
What activities would you encourage DC to take up? Are there any activities you wouldn't want them involved in?

I would love for DD to learn figure skating. It is something I think I would have loved to learn and I find it beautiful to watch. And I would love her to do dance. The kids always seem to have so much fun performing at their recitals.
For DS I would encourage any sports, with the exception of football. I can watch it on TV, but I don't think I would be comfortable watching my child. DH playd football in HS and college, so I know this will be a discussion

OMG! DH was a boxer and his friend is also. And all I was worrying about right now is football

Sport!! I was never athletic and wish I had been! DH is very into sports and I think would encourage baseball and basketball more than others cause that is what he played. But we will encourage them to try any sport than interests them!
If we have girls, I would encourage dance and piano, or another instrument maybe!

I would definitely encourage playing a musical instrument. DH would encourage visual art, like painting. And we both agree we want them to know how to swim. Otherwise, I'll just encourage them to pursue whatever interests them!

I would love DC to do something active. I know DH would love a baseball player. I'd be happy with a cheerleader or runner like me  Either way...I think its important to get DC involved in activities.

Whatever it is my child wants to do. My DS tried a few sports and didnt like it and has tired other things as art, etc... Whatever he likes is what I will encourage him to do, as well as my FC.
