Re: Push Presents (poll)
I'm delivering days before mother's day, and we've talked about Mother's day, but I didn't even think about a gift for "pushing". I think the baby's our gift to eachother... I'd be happy with a healty baby (cute helps too - )
DH is buying me my glider though so that can be my gift.

I agree. I think flowers from DH would be nice but I would not be disappointed if he didn't get me flowers or anything. He did give me a very small Kim Anderson statue from DD when she was born. But it wasn't really a push present. He also gave her a little teddy bear with a K on it.

Re: Push Presents (poll)
I wasn't expecting anything and had never even heard of it before having DS, but some of DH's friends told him about it. I got a baby shoe charm when DS was born. Not sure if DH will get me something again this time.

I highly doubt it. We don't even exchange on Christmas or birthdays.

Re: Push Presents (poll)
I have no issues with push presents. DH knows what I like and he would like to give me something. Every couple is different. I dont think it is silly and I make no apologies for feeling that way - neither would he.

Re: Push Presents (poll)
DH did not get me a push present per say. DD was born in December and for Christmas he got me a necklace with both our birthstones in it.
As for the concept itself, my father bought my mother . . . a car (me), a mink coat (my sister), and a diamond necklace (my brother).

Probably not...I don't see the point of it and we'd rather save the $$$$ for baby.

Re: Push Presents (poll)
yes, I am- did with DH- got a necklace....
A push present doesn' t have to be that extravagant--- This time around it just happens to fall on a big anniversary for us (5th) so I am getting a watch...
I am also going to get a disc necklace with my children's names on it to wear everyday..This will not cost that much...

Ah, how great minds think alike
I'm not expecting a gift, BUT, I DID request a really good chardonnay chilled.... and given to me ASAP.
I miss my booze
LOL... I hear ya!
omg boozers and lushes unite!! if there is one thing i want more than any other craving its a nice amaretto sour.. or a glass of moscato white wine.. heck at this point i'd drink moonshine..

I dont like the idea of a push present. DS was born 5 days before Christmas, so DH bought me a necklace from him. But that was all!

Re: Push Presents (poll)
My Gucci Diaper bag was technically my push present (although I had a csection) and he also got me a necklace with a bootie on it - with "Jack" inscribed on the back

The only push present I want is an Italian hero, I've been craving one for the longest time, does that count?
yeah yeah
don't worry, i'm on it
but i will say that the very idea of a push present is RIDICULOUS, IMO

Re: Push Presents (poll)
If someone's DH/SO wants to give the mother of their child a gift, so be it...but to label it "push present" sounds so tacky to me.

Re: Push Presents (poll)
I never heard it refered to as a push present. I would like a band to go above my wedding ring and we decided it would be a good gift for when the baby is born.
