prob paranoid....but
when does m/s become a stomach bug???
so obvi i already posted about my breakfast this morning...about an hour ago, was able to hold down a few saltines...it eased my nausea for a little while...
but then i started to drink water (don't want to be dehydrated) and now im about to be sick again, just from water!!!!!!!!!
so how long of getting sick do you end up thinking it could be a bug and not m/s???
I don't have a fever but i normally feel better after getting sick and im not...

Re: prob paranoid....but
still sounds like morning sickness to me. Water was the last thing I could drink when I had it. Try something like lemonade or ginger ale and see if you can hold that down.

Re: prob paranoid....but
when I had M/S, I had a very hard time getting water down, it made me gag just the thought of having to drink it, and I normally can drink tons of water and would only drink water. so still sounds like it could be morning sickness

Re: prob paranoid....but
I think it's just MS. Unfortuantley. Try putting some lemon in the water. That was the only way I was able to keep it down. Hope it stops for you soon. For me, weird but... a bagel with cream cheese always made me feel better. I could eat them and not get sick. Everything else....

Re: prob paranoid....but
probably still MS. I had a week where I could barely eat soup and the first few days of it was nothing not even water would stay down.....I went tot he dr and yup it was just M/S.
And they told me the treatment for a stomach bug would be the same.....just trying to hydrate as much as possible.

Re: prob paranoid....but
So might sound wierd but what helped me was actually coke slurpees! Someone I know as well as my doctor suggested coke syrup over ice (which they sell behind the counter at CVS)..and someone else suggested trying coke slurpees. It was all I lived on the first trimester! Helped tremendously!!!! Also icepops (you know the tall skinny ones that are all different flavors..I think they were called Falv-R Pops..sold in all supermarkets in mesh type bags or boxes). Must be something in the syrup but they were the only things that helped me. I say give it a try!!
FEEL BETTER!!

M/S can still have a slight fever and diarrhea so those aren't definite signs of a bug.

I had the same thing very late in my first trimester. For me, I knew it was not m/s because of the fever, vomitting and diarrhea all at once. I think you will be able to tell the difference. Like pp said, the only thing you can really do is try to stay hydrated. If you can't get the water down (I had trouble w/that too), mix in some gatorade and lots of ice. What made it easier for me to get fluids down was my doctor telling me if I didn't and became dehydrated I would probably wind up in the hospital.
DH also froze gatorade in ice cube trays for me and then smashed it up so I could eat it like a slushee, so at least I was getting some hydration.
